Repeating an outfit

Hi Ladies.. I was wondering how many time do you repeat an outfit (particularly Eastern wear)? Also, with changing trends, how easy/difficult it is to keep an outfit useable?

Thanks

Re: Repeating an outfit

I find it just such a waste and complete foolishness , not to use your dress as often as it lasts .

Frankly speaking, I would say use a dress for as long as it lasts , just use it wisely . Like use the shirt in different combinations with your other dresses . or use a different dupatta if you use it , or accessorize differently with it etc

At the end of the day , dresses arnt really cheap to buy , and , trends are dictated by us not by designers . If we get into this rat race , we will totally lose the battle of the Akhirah. we are accountable for all the resources that Allah gives us .

Nowadays, the trend seems to be fashionable lowers like cigarette pants, gharara pants, bell bottom pants etc. I just mix up old shirts with new pants

Re: Repeating an outfit

Use it as often as you can then once you've worn it plenty of times give it to charity so that someone else can benefit from it. I wore my walima dress at every wedding after marriage lol. Only after 5 years I have it away and it was still in a very good condition. If you're spending hundreds of pounds on something then you should use it as much as possible. Otherwise it's just wasting money really. I've still got my wedding lehenga and I'm going to get it made into a lighter suit to wear at mehndis.
Either wear it as it is or get it seen into something else.

Depends how expensive it is. Funnily enough it's easier to repeat casual outfits like a good 10-20 times, compared to the heavier ones.

The heavier ones I try to get at least a few uses out of them, either alter them or mix with bottoms/lenghs for a new look.

Fashion is pretty cyclical too, i have outfits from more than 10-15 years ago which have come back in fashion again and look great!
