No, i will not going to rent it to any family member. unless they are in need of housing. In that case, i can allow them shelter temporarily at affordable cost.

No. I do a lot of residential property management in my real estate practice (and have my own rental properties as well) and I do not place family or very close friends in any of my properties! It's setting yourself up for a fall.
Temporarily helping somebody out in a bind is one thing (and in that case, if I afford not to charge them, then i'll let them stay on as needed), but entereing into an tenant/landlord situation can be tricky with family.

Never...............we "rented" our basement apartment that we used as kids play area and makeshift office to my brother in law. It has more stakes involved than rent money only. i can not live half naked in my house any more .

Forget family…I will not do it for family friends either…we gave our house to one of my father’s friends, and I have no words to express how MAD i was with them…we had to do renovations on the house for Rs100,000 - I know it is not too much in dollars…but still..its hard earned money…and for some reason ppl think that just coz you are earning in dollars you have money to throw around!! (yes…am still 
about it).

I would rent if they were in need and I could easily afford to help them.
Because if things went south...I wouldn't get upset or hold anything against them since its not hurting me.
But if I was depending upon that income...I would not.

People tend to not treat houses as well when it's not their own, they know they can just up and leave you with the mess. If it's family, it's bound to be ten times worse.

No, both time we've done it, it's ended up reaching the point where there's a lawsuit and at this point 2 of my relatives are estranged.
