Removing Stretchmarks?

Hello gals!

I hate my stretchmarks – kinda weird to be discussing them in public. But, I’m in desperate need of a solution for them :frowning:

They’re old stretchmarks, got them when I hit the teens. Does anyone know of a good cream or oil to help fade them a bit? I know you can’t permanently get rid of them, but I have heard of products that can fade them. I’ve tried Moroccan Rose oil from the Body Shop and I’ve tried Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Oil. I haven’t seen too much of a difference. BUT, I only end up applying the oil every other day or so.

Has anyone tried a product that worked for them?

Re: Removing Stretchmarks?

Rose hip oil ?

I havn't tried it for that purpose, but it's very popular for that, i've heard a lot of women say it has really worked for their stretchmarks

Re: Removing Stretchmarks?

^ Thanks Cinnamonroll :) I'll check it out

Re: Removing Stretchmarks?

Problem is, the older the stretch marks, the more difficult they are to remove. I've tried all sorts of things too, but am stuck with the same, old stretch marks. Recently, I bought a stretch mark cream from Shisedo. I think I've just wasted $60...but you never know.

Re: Removing Stretchmarks?

Yeah old stretchmarks are impossible to remove maybe except with laser...

Re: Removing Stretchmarks?

It sucks because my stretchmarks are in the unlikeliest places -- my elbows :S I have no idea why they're there. Even though I'm skinny and moisturize, I guess it's genetics?

The Palmer's oil has been working a bit actually, I can tell a faint difference, they're fading a little. I've started to use it about two times a day vs. once every other day. I think if you use it continuously, it fades them a little. Once you stop using it, then they come back again. No idea what the science is behind that :S

Re: Removing Stretchmarks?

They fade with age eventually. In 10 years or so.

StriVectin

Re: Removing Stretchmarks?

I got strecth marks on my arms due to weight training. Most products dont work, the products that did work are Urist Cosmetics stretch mark fading system comes from Canada but the website (skinlightcosmetics.co.uk) that used to sell it does not stock it anymore. The other one that worked for me was goodbye stretch marks cream from mama mio website, its expensive but my strecth marks vanished.

Re: Removing Stretchmarks?

^ oh wow! thanks! BUT 70 bucks? That is pretty expensive :S

Re: Removing Stretchmarks?

I know they are expensive but they will make your stretch marks vanish. I have used the coco butter cream, bio oil and wasted money on other cheap creams which were all useless, If I knew about the good 1's I would have saved alot of money!

Re: Removing Stretchmarks?

^ question, does this cream work for old stretchmarks though?

Re: Removing Stretchmarks?

Yes both creams are very good for old or new stretch marks!

Re: Removing Stretchmarks?

bio oil and palmers cocoa butter is well known in the uk alot of ppl use it, if u use it on a regular basic it shud be effective, i use palmers cocoa butter i think it works wonders might not get rid of them but will surely fade them tryin using it moring and night

Re: Removing Stretchmarks?

I got extreme stretch marks because of weight training, I stacked cocoa butter and bio oil I used both for over 3 months. Both products were absolutely useless! Thank god for the creams I named in the above posts my stretch marks have completely vanished, now i have smooth skin on my arms without any marks.

Re: Removing Stretchmarks?

funny someone posted this. i have spent all this week researching products I can use for my new not so pretty stretch marks. one cream that alot of people rave about is strivectin sd cream, but it's expensive and cant be used during pregnancy, you can read up reviews on it. I am leaning more towards ordering the Robelyn labs elastin3 which is very comparable to the strivectin and is safe during pregnancy from what i have read so far AND its half the price of strivectin

Re: Removing Stretchmarks?

also retin a is very helpful when it come to removing old stretch marks

Re: Removing Stretchmarks?

"Bio Oil" - had a friend who used it during and after her pregnancy and very highly recommended!!!

Re: Removing Stretchmarks?

No offense but its quite logical that no cream/lotion or anything at all that cnt go to the deeper layers of the skin can remove the stretchmarks. Even lasers can only improve them, maybe dramatically if you are lucky but nothing can get rid of them completely except by cutting that part of skin off :nono:.

The key is prevention. Once you have them, you can use creams/oils/laser to only improve the appearance & texture of the marks but that’s all.
