I’m sure this was started with all good intentions but it has become simply a place to perpetuate stupid and erroneous interpretations by fake pious mullas and wannabes. These guys sit there quoting and misquoting hadees at will and it is impossible to get any common sense edgewise.
Or everyother week there is this “would my ahmadi friend explain…” kinnda thread.
Can’t real religious questions be simply directed to a real religious website instead of providing these misguided misinformed and bigoted wannabe mullas a forum to issue fatwas and rulings from?
If someone is there to misguide , then there is someone else there to guide and correct . There are some members here who critically evaluate the interpretation of Quran and validity and authenticity of ahadees.
Other religion forums out there on the internet are not very secular. They will not entertain anything which will be against their own beliefs.
I think GS provides very secular forum where some debate can be carried out on religious topics.
If someone is provoking hatred against some religion or sect then there are people on GS who defend their position. So in my opinion GS is doing a good service by providing a platform for these kind of religious discussion and debates.

Tariq shaib, how exactly do you know that they are misguided? Plus, if you know that they are spreading erroneous interpretations, why dont you do the right thing and correct them. I guess that requires too much work.
Religion forum is there for a very valid reason. While some threads may lose the intent they were started with, most are beneficial to the majority of members and/or visitors.
It should stay. It has plenty of useful information that one can use.
While you are at it, I demand prime minister/president house to be closed down too.
Why can't they have ordinary offices ??

Like all the forums on GS, religion forum is also a discussion forum where people express their views. The essence of it is to discuss and resolve matters in an amicable way. Everyone has a right to express their views within the rules of GS and if anyone feels that the views expressed are not correct they are more than they are more than welcome to give their own interpretations. Read the threads and make up your own mind. I feel the forum is providing an excellent platform for people to discuss their views. We do however keep an eye on trouble makers and have dealt with them in the past.
