Re: removal of hair

is it ok to shave or wax while fasting?? sorry guys dunno so thought to ask here. as far as i know its not ok, so i've never done it.

Re: removal of hair

Waxing is the way to go ladies! Ive been doing it for a while and I havent gone back to shaving since I started. It lasts longer, doesnt react harshly with the skin, doesnt darken the skin, no ingrown hairs and it feels a ton better than shaving.

I know its painful but the numbing creams help quite a bit.

Razor-fast, neat, economical.
Wax-lasts longer, feels really nice, but expensive to maintain.

Man..this just reminds me of the grossest talk my mom had with us...my bros were like 13, 14 lounging on the couch, and my mom was like tum log neechay k baal saaf karte ho ya nahin? i was like omggg stop...and my mom was like sunnat e rasool hai...ahhhhhhh i ran away from there

Re: removal of hair

I used to have a brazillian wax - quite painful to begin with but after a while it gets easier.

Now the women that did the waxing for me has moved away and i don't know anyone in my area who also does Brazillians.

I didn't want to go back to using creams but was left with no choice as i could never wax that area myself - 2painful!!

Re: removal of hair

what about shaving, skausar..? instead of creams try that.

Shaving causes ingrown hair.. and the root can get infected as well. Waxing is still the best

Re: removal of hair

Gina, but its so hard to wax there...
what should i do?

Heeeey am new here!!!! my first post!!!!

Anyways am glad u girlies hav brought dis topic up - i jus need to clear a couple of things up - i cant find answers to these anywhere....... (rather than opinions can u lot please giv me facts, jus dont wanna do anything wrong Islamically lol!)

  1. i've heard u cannot let metal touch 'down there' or underarms, and dat we hav to find other means of removing it.... - is this true? b/c why hasn't anyone mentioned tweezing - surley its less painfull though slower???

  2. Electrolysis is the only permanent way of removing hair.... is it allowed in Islam to do underarms & down there(it'll be a home kit obviously lol!!)? if so - u dont ever need to remove it again, right???

Veer, i've given a detailed reply earlier.. maybe on page 1. Invest in a good handheld mirror, cotton strips, and wax! Make sure the area is clean and dry..pull against the root of the hair. Best of luck!

No rule as "no metal" use wooden popsicle sticks..or wooden spatula's!

TWEEZING!!? beyhosh

Re: removal of hair

ok, thanks...

Re: removal of hair

''No rule as "no metal" use wooden popsicle sticks..or wooden spatula's!''
.....errr i dont get it - so is it metal allowed u mean???

Re: removal of hair

has anyone tried laser? i was thinking about it, i am getting my under arms done at the moment but it costs alot

i am - same as you, underarms for now. just had my second treatment. where are you getting yours done?

Ofcourse u can use metal..! I prefer buying plenty of wooden spatula's they're easier to use and dispose off of when u're done!

Re: removal of hair

yeah..whats wrong with using metal…I dont think i have read anything stating you cant use metal..???
