So where are the fees going?
According to an agreement, Pak govt is supposed to make legal fund transfers more attractive for expatriates by absorbing the fees associated with it. Seemingly, for the past year or so, our govt has not been paying those fees to the exchange companies in UAE. Not sure if its the same in other countries as well. According to UAE firms, these outstanding fees have gone into millions of dirhams now, and they are going to start charging the expats instead, if Pak govt doesnt pay up soon.
Now is this another smelly fish?
