reminisce about the 90s

I made this thread so that any of us who were growing up in the 90s can look back on it and share your favourite music, shows, memories - it can be anything. Ill go first.

Favourite music - Oasis HUGE fan. ask me any song of thiers and i will tell you the lyrics
Favourite show - Get your own back

Use to play a game called ding dong dash. Simple. ring someones doorbell and run/hide :D. Also in the 90s was when liverpool fc had Robbie fowler, steve mcmanaman, michael owen and of course patrik berger :). I remember one game when he single handedly demolished chelsea - think he scored a hat-trick. One of the most consistant players in europe at that time.

Your turn people

Re: reminisce about the 90s

I love the music from the 90s (pop/hip hop/R&B) and the makeup too. Brown lipstick was very popular during that time period, no to so much anymore.

Re: reminisce about the 90s

90s seem like yesterday to me, I reminisce about the 80s.

Re: reminisce about the 90s

Music: don't really have a favourite band etc but it was definitely less "electronic"

TV Show: It's gotta be the Fresh Prince. Also the Saturday morning cartoons were awesome: Recess, Rugrats, Hey Arnold, hell even the old Power Rangers were better :D

Re: reminisce about the 90s

The 80s will do aswell :D

Re: reminisce about the 90s

Auto-tune its called. You know, the stuff used these days that produces that horrific sound and ear cancer. Mostly used to help ladies like justin beiber and guys like lady gaga lol. Fresh prince!!!! forgot about that lol. that the awesome. good times

Re: reminisce about the 90s

^ Lmao at Bieber and Gaga.

Yeah I didn't just mean autotune, I also meant the merging of genres. In the 90s, R&B was R&B, rap was rap, etc. Now we have Drake, Kid Cudi, Black Eyed Peas (who used to be strictly rap) kind of jumping genres. It's an evolution of sorts but I miss the old school songs.

Re: reminisce about the 90s

3 words: The Spice Girls!

Re: reminisce about the 90s

^ohhhh man you know what i was literally just about to bring them up :D. But you beat me to it. Yeah i can see what youre saying ghost 14. Still doesnt compare to wu tang clan, krs one, nas etc etc imo. Lupe fiasco is the best thing to happen post 2000

Re: reminisce about the 90s

the 90s Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis' legendary reverse swing bowling!

Re: reminisce about the 90s

80’s I miss the cars modern cars are uglier, okay they probably work better but 80s fashion and cars and were the last of the decent line.

90’s I remember as being a time of great learning and hope across the globe as people had such a feel good factor… the 70’s was all cold war, 80’s it fizzled out and the world looked like it would have to shake off the reccesion… 90s the recession slowly left and people were coming to the millenium and there was so much hope… the last decade was just like Whoah were did all the ignorance come from?

All of a sudden we have Chavs and the War on Terror! :konfused:

Re: reminisce about the 90s

Miss bands like..

jupiters
karavan
vital signs
milestones
awaz
string fellows
heavens
music math
collage
rage
strings

and loads more....those were the talented pakistani bands.

Re: reminisce about the 90s

exactly. and there is just too much political correctness now aswell. People (im talking about the average public, not racist rednecks) are soo afraid to describe anything of colour its awful. A friend of mine who works with the police is too afraid to right down anything that describes a persons ethnicity/race/religion in fear of being pounded on or being branded a racist. Im all for liberalism but some liberals have taken it too far. Neds!!! god where do i start with them. They should just be put in a glass box and sent to iraq. I believe the national service shoould be brought back just to deal with these rats. Unemployment is at an all time high and people are struggling just to eat. The one good thing i have seen lately is this global movement thats going on right now protesting against the bankers and governments(top 1% i believe). I believe there was one in Edinburgh in fact (where im from)

Re: reminisce about the 90s

i believe we did have phones. But very few owned them
