During a battle, Rasulallah SAW had with him a sack of dates. As he (SAW) was handing them out to the companions, he forgot to give it to one companion. This companion strayed to the end of of the group, and kept reciting, Subhanallahi wal humdulillahi wa la ilhaha illallahu wallahu akbar, wa la hawla wa la quwwata illah billahil aliyyil Azeem," and afterwards, “Oh Allah, please make this sufficient for me.” Allah (swt) sent Jibraeel AS to Rasullah SAW who said, “Ya Rasulallah (saw), give Hudayrah his share, you did not give him any.”
Rasulallah SAW called a companion over and asked him to give Hudayrah the dates. He also told him to listen to what Hudayrah says afterward. When he gave Hudayrah his share, he stayed to listen to these words.
“Oh Allah, the same way in which you did not forget Hudayrah, do not allow Hudayrah to forget you!”
