I am not good at it, which makes me unhappy with myself.
I live in a city where people from different countries live together. Alot of times I came across a foreigner / local person who said my name with a warm smile and excitingly shoke hands with me, while I was totally blank as I had no idea where did I meet this guy. IF I remember face I don’t remember his name or his department.
Amazingly in most of the cases I had only met the person for a very short time, like at the bus stop, in liberary, in canteen, or in the department…etc. BUT still the guy knows my name (which is not easy to remember specially for a foreigner), knows my dept. and every bit of the things which I might have shared with him in my short meeting.
BUT I don’t remember anything except that the face looks a bit familiar and I start to recall alot of things after the guy reminds them to me.
On the other hand people give me compliment for having a very good memory in terms of remembering words of wisdom or intellect said by anyone.
It is not that I don’t give importance to those people, I respect them and wish that I could never forget them, but it doesn’t happen that way.
How would you remember people’s name, face, the information they shared with you, the place you meet,…etc.
Omg I am the same way too..I cant ..usually cannot remember faces or names:cb:…one trick I use If its any lady I call em Ayesha and then she may say no I am thiiss……or for dudes…Ali/omar…works for me…or has
But seriously I have tried remembering their face by either trying to memorize a distinctive feature abt em…but as of now I havent been successful…and what is used in books as to repeat the name after meeting the person or rhyming it with something…Maybe these things may work for you.
As of now I avoid using their names..and Seriously saying “AAP” instead of their name goes a long way:D
I have the same problem brother
I m horrible at remembering names Sometimes I ask them 5-6 times in an hour. For example when we r having a discussion I ll go all of a sudden; ‘listen brother/sister what was your name again. I m sorry I forgot’
I hate it but I m working on it I write all the names down on a little note in my phone if there s more then 25-30% chance that I ll meet them again.

@ STP: Dunno about names but I am able to recognize faces most of the time and even some of the words they might’ve mentioned. Speaking of remembering words in one meeting, why can’t we do the same when it comes to school . Ratta hi kyoo lagana parta hai
