The end of the British empire started when Colonialists who did not understand Islam and Hinduism insisted that they chew the cartridge with cow/pig fat and go to battle.
Now we live in a global society and now, it is becoming obvious that the Danish editor did not publish Jesus bashing or Jew bashing was not condoned by the same newspaper. The cartoons were hate speech. The reaction is sad and stupid but it is not about the depiction of the Prophet, it is about ridiculing our faith.
If something like this happened to Christians, they would protest peacefully but then again, Muslim troops are not sitting in Nebraska.
Do you want to say that if Christian??? forces were not sitting in Afghanistan, Pakistan or Iraq the Muslims had not protested voilently for depicting the Prophet cartoons?
Obviously they did it to poke fun and insult islam hiding behind freedom of speech was exposed as a sham when they refused to publish cartoons of Jesus and also same newspaper refused to publish cartoons of ariel sharon which amazingly they said would be racist and offensive!
