Almost an year back the ALS association started a online challenge (silly but interesting) inviting everyone to post their video with throwing Ice cold water via bucket. It went viral like something and started a online chain-reaction. I remember at one stage it became kinda annoying to have the social media feed filled up with these videos.
But here is the best part. ALSA raised $115 million out of that challenge which is HUGE! And after one year uptil now its been only able to spend $47 million which is good in the sense that it still has a large pool to spend on a great cause.

Am sorry. How much of those $47m went into salaries and bonuses? And what happened to the remaining $68m? How much of it was spent on lobbyists? Am wary of all the Non-profits from rich countries. Their efficiency is dismal.
Back to the main question. We should do something like this for GS. All we have to to do is have Jennifer Lawrence kick it off.
The salaries question is interesting. If you read the article that has the answer for remaining which is still sitting there. Why would they spend any on lobbyists? But either way i’m sure we can call/email ALSA to find the answer, they must be probed by times already.

Who knows! Just coz they are tax-exempt does not mean they are holy. Some of these organizations involve themselves in all sorts of power-brokering. Not sure if Planned Parenthood is one of the non-profits, but they seem to engage in a lot of nefarious activities. If something like Planned Parenthood had happened in China or North Korea, we would be calling the state involved in organ harvesting.
