hey, i have acne scars/red marks on my skin which doesn’t look good at all! Does anybody know how to get rid of these red marks? Iwould prefer any tried and tested herbal remedy since the herbal stuff doesn’t have any side effects to it..I am contemplating to go to the glycolic skin peels/microdermabrasion route but only when nothing else works, however i am skeptical about these procedures…Do they really work and would my skin completely cleared up without any side effects/after effects? The complete procedure , which takes about 6 sittings, would cost me over $600 that is why i want to be completely assured that this WILL work for me! Please provide your two cents!

i would advise you to talk to a dermotologist before you use any treatments, herbal or not. you could find them in your local yellow pages or get a referrel through your GP. they should be able to give you any information you need and outline what will happen and about any side-effects. and keep in mind, not all herbal stuff is without complications- sometimes it might say herbal, but may not be entirely herbal- it could have chemicals added in. so be very careful what you use, follow all instructions correctly and good luck!
and if you simply want cosmetic corrections for minor scars, then concealer and foundation should do the trick!

SGC: i did consult my doc for the scars..but you know how these docs are..would have me drop by atleast 5 times before refering a specialist...that is why i was trying to avoid that hassle..but i guess you are right..it's the time to see doc and talk to him about the problem in detail
Sayonee: what do you mean by SCAR REMOVER? is it like a cream that you apply on the scars? and which aisle in the pharmacy would this be in, provided i live in T.O.?

seriously though, its your face! go see your doc WITH the mederma in hand and see what h/she says about it. if they feel like you should try it before you see a specialist, do it. if not, use your best judgement i guess. but also with docs, like you said, i've learned you have to pretty much demand to see a specialist. demand nicely, of course, but they are reluctant to refer you and you have to be insistent. my fiancee ended up suffering from an ear infection for 3 months before i harrassed him enough to go harrass his doctor and absolutely refuse to leave without a specialist ear doctor referral. thats what finally got him a referral. and the other thing is, since it takes so damned long to actually get an appointment after your referral, go asap.
