In past they tried it for some plays like Kiran Kahani, Zer Zabar Pesh (latest Ek Nae Mod per) and then many plays of Ek Muhabbat Sau Afsane, but seems the new versions didn’t meet viewers expectations.
How is the idea of remaking Pakistani Classic dramas?
Do you like to see remake of any drama? If yes, then who do you want to see in lead roles?
I think Amina Sheikh is a good replacement for Shehnaz Sheikh. Can't decide about Marina's role though, need a young looking girl who acts really well in happy-go-lucky type roles.
I wish they don't even try to remake a classic like Tanhaiyan because most of the time the remake attempts are butchered because of weak direction/cast/acting etc

True... But the story of the drama is still relevant in today's time and can get attention of viewers if made by some good director like Sarmad Sultan.
^ Yes and they don't sell them to the private channels either. 99% of remakes are a let down, so I would not touch the classics. It would be better if PTV digitalizes and makes new prints of the old classics and airs them at peak time. I would love to watch some which we didn't in our childhood
They should make Dhoop Kinarey sequel, but there must be a very very good story revolving around the original characters - NOT THEIR CHILDREN. Many of them who acted in Dhoop Kinare are still alive and I'm sure if some serious producer goes for it - who doesn't care about current trends- then that sequel may be a success.
And director must be only & only SAHIRA KAZMI. She is the one knows exactly how to get acting out of actors/actresses

haha have you seen their production quality on air right now? lol
