Reluctant Fundamentalist: The movie

It was a fantastic novel by Mohsin Hamid depicting the struggles in communication between east and west post 9/11. It won many prizes when it was published in 2006. Now Mira Nair has made this into ta movie and I am intrigued to see what she comes up with.

It was made the opening movie of the Venice Film Festival and then won Golden Lion award for best picture. Stars a british pakistani called Riz Ahmed and famous hollywood actors Kate Hudson and Liev Schreiber

Could not find a trailer online but Mira nair said some really good things about Pakistan.

Looking forward to watch it.

Re: Reluctant Fundamentalist: The movie

I thought mehreen jabbar did half of the direction (the one shot in Pakistan), and misha shafi is also playing a role in it.

looks interesting...will defo watch it.

Re: Reluctant Fundamentalist: The movie

I have heard of it as well..am sure it is a good one...

Re: Reluctant Fundamentalist: The movie

Need to read the book first...by the ratings on imdb, this movie sucks compared to the book. So yeah, definitely the book first before i'll give this a watch.

Re: Reluctant Fundamentalist: The movie

Loved the book.. need to watch this

Re: Reluctant Fundamentalist: The movie

OK so I just finished the book today and don't get what all the fuss is about. What's so great about it? It's fully loaded with BS...The only thing i liked about it was the style in which it was written.
