Pakistan for the most part is a very religous country. Most of the people cringe and at other people who deonouce Islam or say anything negative about it.
While if your in any European, or American country you will not for the most part be hated by other people. Infact in the US in the metal music scene hatred toward christianity is very protruding with lyrics dealing with the evils of chtristianity, destroying churches and killing christians. Infact in Norway in the blackmetal scene, many blackmetallers(who ironically are white and are supermasicists) burned down several century old churches. If someone burned a mosque down in pakistan, a death sentence would be inevitable for that person.
Why is that Pakistani’s cant tolerate athiesm by their own people?Why must they be labelled ‘kafirs’? Why must anyone who says anything against Islam or the prophet be put to death?Isnt there any freedom of speech? If there is, why is relgion a topic freedom of speech cant be implied upon.
There was a case of a christian couple of years ago in Pakistan where he said something against the prophet. He was legally sentenced to death by the court. By the court. I thought Pakistani court was supposed to uphold freedom of speech and relgion

I personally am a Muslim, but a very secualr at that. I dont pray five times a day. The only time i go to the mosque is on Eid. I dont fast.
Pakistan should allow more relgious freedom.
Look at secular muslim countries like Turkey. They are muslim, but they are advancing into the new cenutry much faster than us. Its their secular ideas with which Turkey is looked upon as a modern country.
I think you are forgetting that the majority of western society isnt really christian.
Ask any person on the street and most will say they dont believe in God.

But i really think its this extreme religous views thats holding our country back. Again i will cite Turkey as an example, After Kemal Ataturk 'westernized' it, it has been doing very well.
In Pakistan dating isvery rare, but in Turkey one can frequently see girls in tank tops and shorts holding hands with another man.

WHen have you been to pakistan waise? Its improving very very fast. And its not about short bussiness wasnt interesting overthere. Lately many investors are going to pakistan because it is growing this fast. There were more advantages in european countries for bussines.

Actually I was in Pakistan last summer. Islamabad like always was still nice with open wide roads and orderly traffic. Pindi even though is right next to Isloo was a whole different thing. The roads very narrow and with manholes, with people trying to create their own lanes(In a 3 lane road, there were like 5 sperate lanes).
I mean Pakistan is improving fast right now is only because of US aid which is coming in. Once it stops coming it'll go back to where it was before. Did you know before US aid was coming in, Pakistan was on the brink of bankruptcy.
Pakistan was rated like 132 out of 164 by UN on the best places to live, Pakistan was beat by African countires and this was last year when the report came out.
Yea, Ataturk wanted to westernize turkey. He banned all traditional clothing only allowing western clothing. I dont think you have been to Turkey, compared to Pakistan its like the garden of eden

You know what....to tell u all the truth. I think US is helpin sumwhat because we helped them a great deal just recently and u all know what i'm talkin about. BUT...there's always a BUT...for the most part Pakistan today is as deep in cuz of its previous politicians and corrupt laws that are like dusty books, never touched, never read. We don't have to change anything, only if we can get a good leader we'll be alright. It doesn't take people to change their mentality for the country to be posperous...Pakistan's got plenty of natural resources and talent. if we utilize them we can uprise easily. It's just that our ppl tend to take the country for granted and everyone has this attitude 'Let me get mine and you gotta get yours', i don't blame the public there either cuz they've been forced to think this way because of the way system is run over there. If the money which is borrowed from world bank would go in the places its intended to go, it's not long before Pakistan can outrun Turkey in all aspects. Yes ALL aspects. in my views its not necessary to dress western to be modern n advanced. First muslims were the smartest and most advanced of people....all EU learned all they learned from OUR literature. The only problem is we started to follow western ways but forgot that they got the best of what they have from us. if we could just look within ourselves and see who we really are and what we're meant to be doing...we won't need any type of Aid from anyone (Soon i hope).
Thats right the quran does say to progress in science and tech. and it syas not to opress religous minorties. But you have ot be real, I have been to Pakistan and religous minroties are severely looked upon. Case and point: The Kailash people. I went to Roombor in the kalash valley, and the muslims their show alot of hatred towards them. They are like srupid kafirs they should convert.
Alos there is a lot of hatred towards the Christians who work as sweepers. They are basically seen as a lower caste.
My point is not that we will progress into the future with short skirts and tanktops, my point is secularism will lead us into the future much faster than we are right now.

Why? because they wear tanktops and skirts? Have you seen all of turkey? or all of Amerika? They have city s like pindi aswell.
And its not improving because of Amerika. It is improving because decent people are taking leading rolls instead of corrupt politicians. The ONLY reason pakistan lagged behind financially, is because of corrupt people.
And Amerika helping? They havent paid the UN fees for the last 10 years It s a matter of time before they ask something in return.

I totally agree with you Wazzyboi. If the money that Pakistan went to reforming the country rather then in politicans in pockets we would be much better off.
We also need checks and balances in our constituion. We didnt have checks and balances thats why Zulfikar ran amok.
Also Pakistani people need to PAY TAXES. Less then 1% of the Pakistani people pay taxes!!!!!! And the taxes acquired shoulnt go to polticians but rather the pakistani people and pakistani land
We also need a solid, non-corrupt democratically elected gov't. We have been ruled by milltray since half of Pakistans total existence.
yea i'd agree on the part where u said about 'we look down on other religions', i'd hate to admit but i've noticed that biased mentality as well. BUT at the same time i don't agree with it either cuz not all the people are the same. My dad was a govt. assigned regional director for Veterinary in the punjab sector, so we had servants/Maids all were one family, and they were christians but we didn't look down on them. We'd feed 'em and thought of 'em as our family. We'd even send our drive to help them if they ever needed to get to the doctor or watever else. We gifted them on christmas and were happy for them because its their 'eid'. they were like a family so much that... They were at my uncle's wedding n no one raised an eye on them. Again!!!!! It's all about Literacy not the religion. Religion teaches us to love all n hate none but people portray the religion a certain way. So u cannot generalize all people i for one am an example that they're not mistreated everywhere all the time. My parents still keep in touch with that family and take care of them even from here, even though we don't have to. but we feel like they're a family. So it really depends on the people and how they're brought up.
I totally agree with you, I just dont see why you think ou culture needs changing aswell. ? somethings need to be changed. but clothing ? no, shalwaar kameez is the best in the world.
