Polygamy is allowed. Up to 4 wives. Plus any concubines on the side, but that’s irrelevant today, since slavery is abolished (aur waise hi woh ek aur issue hai).
Lekin at the same time - men have to keep their eyes lowered. Also, they should not look twice at a female (ek dafa theek hai - accident ho hi jaatay hain). Theek hai - phir bhi shaadiyan ho hi jaati hain, kissi na kissi tareekhay se.
But adultery is highly wrong. Aur adultery does not just cover sexual relations - it can go as far as flirting around with other ladies.
Lekin jee. Banda jo shaadi shuda ho, how is he going to go wife hunting for the 2nd, 3rd, 4rth when he is not allowed to flirt with other women, as that then becomes an offense of adultery??
let's define the term Adultery first, then. Shall we?
So, I suppose there is a severe punishment outlined in Quran itself for adultery. Therefore, if we take flirting as adultery, should the one who flirts to others WHO ARE other than his wife [after getting married] be stoned to death as well?
Does this mean that before marriage anything goes? Same rules apply before and after marriage. Just because you don’t have a wife doesn’t mean you get a free ticket. Fornication is before marriage and adultery is afterwards.
adultery and fornication are two different things, and the punishment for adultery is much worse - its death. Which means that adultery itself is a worse sin. Why? Because you're hurting your spouse.
So, if a husband is looking at other women in a lustful manner and that leads to a second/third/fourth marriage, isn't he hurting his wife prior to marrying the second lady by his lustful thoughts for another woman?
Basically, if religiously, you must have eyes only for your spouse, then how are you even supposed to get to the stage of taking another wife, if you're not even allowed to look at other ladies? Does this mean then that polygamy is possible religiously only on political grounds - like making political alliances?
It with the expression permission of the wife that the husband is now looking to get married for the second time. So, why should she be hurt?
So you are saying, according to your logic, a single man or woman commits fornication when he/she wants to get married the first time?? But he/she doesn’t. It’s acceptable (and not fornication) to look at a woman/man to check compatibility when your intention is marriage. Similarly, for your second marriage, (with your wife’s permission of course), it is not adultery, when a man “looks” at another woman for compatibility with the sole intention of marrying her.
Emphasis is on marriage. No need to make distinction between fornication and adultery; no relevance, because neither sin is committed.
No riddle here…show’s up..game’s over..everyone go home…
