Re: Religious miracles with possible scientific explanations
Good post. A pebble can weigh 1 kg but won’t be of this planet. What if the birds were actually alien spaceships carrying pebbles made of neutron star material? Then it’s totally plausible.
Re: Religious miracles with possible scientific explanations
A pebble of neutron star weighs 900 times more than the great pyramid of Giza. Too dense for any alien ship to carry
Doesn't have to be that dense! I said neutron star type material. Surely, not all planets/stars' mass weigh the same. My point was it could be a pebble from a different place in the universe that weigh more on earth than it does where it came from.
Density of your common periodic table elements are universally constant. Only time matter become denser is in white dwarfs, neutron stars, or black holes.
I think pebbles were small but lethal explosives. Kind of life mini and contained nuclear explosive device.
Re: Religious miracles with possible scientific explanations
Yes, but do you really think we have discovered all elements in the universe? Take an example of a superconductor. We know certain elements can reach a superconducting state, but we have yet to find a natural superconductor. I am sure it exists!
I do agree that the pebbles were more likely tiny explosives.

Yes all the naturally existing elements have been discovered. It’s not a rocket science you know. You keep increasing atomic number by one, and you keep getting new elements. But the higher elements of existing periodic table are very unstable and decay very fast under normal conditions. I heard that the top couple of one’s are only theoretical and can exist in Labs only.

What about the ones in between that are still missing? What if the ones that decay fast have a way to remain in a certain state and we haven't discovered that yet?
Re: Religious miracles with possible scientific explanations
boss
it takes moon(reflected) light 1.30S to reach earth. If there was an moonquake, and a new surface or bump was to
to be appeared on moon surface, it would take people to know in 1.30s, till then would see a split in moon.
Re: Religious miracles with possible scientific explanations
I am not talking about trick of hand. If you see small birds killing elephants, will you use religion or science to explain it?
Going with your logic, if you find an event stated in Quran and Bible let's say, is also listed in geeta, would you take geeta as a true book of God too?
I would give the quran the bible and the Gita same credibility. Which would be zilch when it comes to Science.
"I am not challenging the authenticity of any religious miracle. All I am saying is that if a similar event happen today, how will you explain it using logic."
I would challenge the authenticity of miracles from ANY religion. Religion is simply matter of faith. It is dangerous, check that, lethal to find scientific reasons for perceived miracles origination from religious beliefs / superstitions.
Re: Religious miracles with possible scientific explanations
[QUOTE My post was not intended to make "logic".
With all due respect to Islam, even if there were more than one event mentioned in Quran that are also mentioned in
Gita or Bible, I still wouldn't take it as a true book of God.

That is precisely why Religion doesn't belong in Science. Doesn't read too well now does it?
