Is this allowed?
Many times i have seen girls in Hijab playing Sports like Basketball soccer and martial arts doesnt Islam Forbid this for girls? I thought girls are not allowed to play sports and all.
Of course ladies are allowed to play sports as men are allowed to play sport, and this also includes swimming and wrestling.
BUT, only in segregated circumstances
no its not allowed men and women r suppose to differ in every situation man is not suppose to do something women do n same for the women if they do the same thing then what would be the differnce between them?

Men are supposed to speak, but women are supposed to shut up.
Men are supposed to eat but women are supposed to diet.
Men are supposed to have fun but women are supposed to stay indoors and cook, clean, and do everything their lords and masters want.
Guess who wrote these rules?
Guess who wants to be a part of society with these conditions?
Not women.
I don't want a society like this. It's guys like this who give Islam a bad name.
>>>I thought girls are not allowed to play sports and all.<<<<

First of all, I guess i realize that what you’re trying to do is validify your assumption that muslim girls are forbidden to play sports…in Islam. But what are u basing that assumption on? Please do enlighten us, i’m really curious as to know why you thought that.
Granted, the segregation of females playing sports is recommended, preferred, or enforced most times depending on where you live and what you play. And yes that is according to islamic views, but Islam in no way forbids females from engaging in sports.
ps.'n Ahmed don’t u dare say it

ps2. A girl who wears hijab is not necessarily religious and likewise just because a girl doesn’t wear hijab it doesn’t mean she’s not religious, so please don’t generalize.
I believe (although I am willing to stand corrected) that the Quran offers very simple guidance for all activities in daily life. Some of this dictates that both men and women should show a certain amount of modesty, so as not to give rise to temptation in the opposite sex.
As such, there is nothing that forbids girls from playing sports indoors, outdoors in front of men or otherwise. What is forbidden is a lack of modesty.
I would emphasize that this should apply to boys as well as girls, if at all.
My humble opinion
thanks to all, cause i only thought us guys were allowed to play sports
Nope. I’m pretty sure women are not allowed to play sports in front of men. You cant be very modest when playing sports which include quick movements etc… can you?
Okay, let me clarify something here.
The Quran does not say this. It points us towards “modest” behaviour and it gives very basic rules, but it does not forbid sport in any way, for anyone.
The Quran does not say, “anything which involves a quick movement, is forbidden infront of the oppoiste sex”. The Quran preaches modesty in your behavior. Nothing more, nothing less.
If you feel that being modest means that sports should not be played infront of the opposite sex, than please feel free to refrain from doing so. That is your own personal choice as a muslim and I resspect that.
However, it is not for any of us to say that women are forbidden to play sports either in private or in front of men.
It is up to each one of us, as muslims to draw our own line in the sand as to what constitutes modest or immodest behaviour, and then adhere to it to the best of our abillities as honest, faithful muslims.
If you feel that women should not play sports in some circumstances, than I would respectfully suggest that men should also fall under the same restrictions.
My humble opinion
ISLAM NAI AWRTOON KO GHAR SAY NIKALNAI KI IJZAT NAHI DI . MARDOON SAY YA GHAIR NEHRAMOON SAY AWARAT KAY MAIL JOL KI ISLAM IJZAT NAHI DEITA ,HAN AGAR AWRATEIN KHAIL KHAILNA HI CHAHTI HAIN TO UNHAIN SUITABLE ARRANGEMENS MAIN KHAILNA CHAHIAY , AISI CONDITION JAHAN MARD UNHAIN NA DEKH SAKAIN ..
AUR ISSI TARA ISLAM MARDOON KO BHI KABHI IJAZAT NAHI DAY GA KAY AWRTOON KAY SAMNAI KOI KHAIL KHAILAY , NAHI YEH KAY WO AWRTOON KO KHILTA DEKHAY , ISLAM NAI TO AWRAT KO BAZAR JANAI KI IJAZAT NAHI DI , TO BAY PARDA HO KAR KHAILNAI KI IJAZAT KIOON DAY GA ..
BAQI AAP KHUD TAAYUN KAR LEIN

I think thats subjective, depending on what sport is being played.
Aslamu Aleikum,
ofcourse we are allowed to play sports but in "perdah:
Yaida, you are right bout the part that we are supposed to differ from each othe but this has nothing to do with gender …it is just being active

Re: Religious Girls and Sports???
I was never allowed to play sports with boys but with girls but for school teams I would still wear my abaya during a tournament instead of shorts!
Re: Religious Girls and Sports???
so you played what sports with your abaya on?
Re: Religious Girls and Sports???
Does that really happen? I mean playing sports in an abaaya.. How can you run about with it on? Even in the most conservative societies I’ve seen women playing sports with tracksuit trousers, top and hijab rather than abaaya..
