In the heat of the flaming arguement the underlying question seems lost. Does Islam really say don’t tolerate non-muslims anywhere…including mecca and medina? or does the saudi government (if u can call it that) impose such rules? whichever does that should be rectified by all means - such institutional discrimination is barbaric

Yes, Islam is also under question. How many Islamic states we can count discremination free?
In Iran if a Muslim kills a non-Muslim, he will go scot free by paying some compensation, whereas the wiseversa is punishable by death.
The last excuse is essential that since no correct Islamic State is existing and the religion cannot be blamed for the guilt of followers.
