Religious Figures/Celebrities

Perhaps this question has already been asked before, but I haven’t come across such a discussion so I decided to create a thread on it.

I was watching the program, Asrar-e-Rahmat, which is hosted by Mufti Akhoon. He used to be on Ghaib ki Baatain. Anyhow, I have read on a couple of websites that he’s a fraud in terms if how he manages his money, and a fake, etc. I like watching his program, he seems very down-to-earth. I don’t get that ott or weird vibe from him that I would get from Aamir Liaqat even before news of his strange behavior came out.

So, how do you all react to such cases? Do they put you off to where you avoid watching the programs or do you put scandals aside and focus on the good that’s being discussed?

Re: Religious Figures/Celebrities

Nobody is perfect. The idea that a person who talks sense is otherwise completely free from all weakness and ills, is a totally false idea.

What I personally do is, listen to what the man is saying. Focus on the content and leave his personal life out of it. Its just like reading a book, you like it you learn from it and then move on. You don't sit and investigate and ponder what the writer is like in his real life.

Many molvies are known to be corrupt, especially in financial terms. An example is Maulana Tariq Jamil. He is known to have occupied lands illegally in his native village. I know this because some of the family live near that place and they say its common knowledge there. Yet he has moved many people and motivated them towards islam. I don't hold that against them, because i don't believe in giving demigod status to humans.

Illegal ownership? That's news to me. :(
