I don't know where i said that and in what context. I'll tell you this though, I've said this many times here: the quran isn't a book of science, and that is why no leading journals of science on earth will not respect it as any proof of anything scientific. This is also why no self respecting scientists, even muslim ones, have ever used quran as proof in any scientific breakthroughs when presenting to the world. I guess what i'm trying to say is that islam and especially the quran has nothing to do with science.
Did you study books of Religion with the same passion you studied books of Science?
for about 29 years, i was a devout muslim.

Oh and I always get a kick out of reading statements such as "Oh I am a DEVOUT muslim" "I am a good muslim" I mean if you truly are a pious person you should know not to judge yourself its for Allah to decide.

In fact wherever the Qur’an rebukes humans for not reflecting on the verses or uses the term “people of understanding” it addresses them with an argument that should be addressed with scientific intent.

You say the Qur’an has nothing to do with science … I say the Qur’an tells you how to be scientific … and it may have no resemblence to science, but has everything to do with “reality” … we can’t say the same about science …

And again, Quran is not a book of Science. It's a book of signs. It's a book to guide us on how to live our life. It touches upon science as a reference but does not discuss it at length. However, you can never point out a scientific contradiction in it. If you find one, rest assured, science will correct it stance in the future as it has in the past :)

Hello there. That is amusing. Those are your opinions. What I wrote isn’t my opinion, it is something actually practiced by the world of scientists. I guess what i’m trying to say is that you will not convince me or a scientist to ever use quran as a guide to solve things like the pythogorean theorem, or the formula for powdered nestle milk.

I’m 100 % sure that Faith plays a Role in Science. Ever heard of Dr. Maurice Bucaille?
I do not care if my orthodox Muslim Brothers/Sister consider Dr. Abdus Salam a Muslim or not, but it’s a known fact that he had been maligned and sidelined because he said “I believe in Allah”…
I’m not a Scientist, but I can only tell you about my personal experience. This is a gift for everyone. The Relationship between God and Man is so unique that only he can show you his signs, I can only tell you where to find. In the end it is Allah who will “meet” you.
I cannot talk to you on scientific Basis, because I have no Knowledge in this field. Maybe try it with Dr. Zia H Shah. His religious fields are Christianity and Atheism.

This Moby Dick rendition is exactly my point with many a said miracle such as the number 19 one … I don’t accept every thing that people claim to be a miracle in the Qur’an just because they say it … And it seems to promote the Qur’an … No … I am actually quite selective … For the first part … Now Herman Melville made no claim for prophecy on the other hand Sayyidina Muhammad (SAW) did and this is the point we should rule out Moby Dick … :hypo:
To predict Evolution is also no miracle, if it were then Darwin has claim to that one … But rather considering it were and analysing what the author meant you can see clearly the author was matching … Lion to sea-lion, cat to cat fish, dog to dog fish, etc … Reading the context of the passage will reveal that much …
There are other candidates of prophecy in the Qur’an or remarkable findings regardings numbers and patterns … The ones you have given above in Moby Dick are a forced connection … I disregard those just as I disregard the forced ones that people come up with about the Holy Qur’an … This sort of thing done by you is desperation … What I showed you from the Qur’an was a basis for how we should take lessons from its teachings … It is essentially that … A guidance … A book that teaches us.
