To the mods:
I started a thread in the religion forum regarding Quranic Verses. I would warn the mods to do one of three things: Either
Take the thread down, or
Delete the posts by GP and desinum1, and/or
Ban these two vermins.
I would never ask for anyone to be banned on this forum for personal attacks, but i do take serious offense at the audacity some of these people are showing by disregarding and attacking the Quran. If the attack was in reciprocation to some stupid comments made about religious texts of non-muslims, I would understand. This is completely unprovoked. Bashing “muslims” while arguing in other forums is completely acceptable to me, but this is overstepping boundaries. If you let people desecrate the Quran like this while you wield power, you will be answerable to Allah (SWT).
^ bhaijaan, the board allows pictures...which is completely haram...lets make this place structurally more islamic and pay heed to what quran says, over a period of time we can discuss non-muslims etc. Lets start from within...charity begins at hoime
Again, you are pointing out the deficiencies of “muslims” in following the Quran. This is acceptable to me. But refrain from attacking the Quran itself.
^ are you serious? If you yourself cannot agree upon the mandates of a holy book. How the fk do you except someone from another religion to even take it seriously. Conviction folks...
You are doing it again. If anyone of you had started a thread about Bagavad Gita, Torah or Bible, and someone posted something derogatory about it, i would criticize it too. So, there is no double-standard here.
As serious as a heart attack. The inability of muslims to agree upon the mandates of the Holy Book is, again, muslims’ problem. No one is asking you to take it seriously. But you are being asked to refrain from posting negative comments about the religion. Muslims are an open season.
This is a feedback forum. I am not going to get entangled in some out-of-context discussion of Quran with a non-muslim like yourself. The purpose of the original thread was not to start an inter-faith dialogue with people, it was started to share the beautiful verses of Quran. If you have “questions” regarding mentions of sex-slaves in Quran, i suggest you search for a thread or start one.
But you said it yourself: it was a joke to you; and, you should not making jokes about the Quran. You should be banned.
I don't understand. So freedom of expressing your opinions about the Quran is not allowed? Did those two insult the Quran in anyway? Or were they merely just sharing their thoughts?
^ Dopey, you are just being a little silly now. How can a book, that contains some great messages for humanity, be disrespected by someone making a joke about it. Does it have a soul or as you people say "sole"?
the greatness of religions and its parts is that they don;t validation because they are based on the concept of faith. When you move away from faith based approach to a religion and start treating it like oil in saudi arabia, it is comical at best.
Per rules and regulations of the religion forum, very little lattitude is given to freedom of expression regarding defamatory remarks and queries about any religious texts, not just the Quran.
Consider yourself warned. Now, go back to WA and resume bashing Palis, Pakis, towelheads as much your heart desires.
But nobody said anything defamatory about the Quran, dope. And who are you to warn anyone here? You are not a mod or an admin. And queries are not allowed? Then how are others suppose to learn about Islam?
That Book, the Holy Quran, supposedly contains the literal words of GOD. So, when you poke fun at it, you are indirectly poking fun at God. That, i believe, is considered blasphemy in any religion, whether it be Judaism, Christianity or Islam.
I dont profess to be knowledgeable about Hinduism, so i can’t intelligently speak about the issue of blashphemy for poking fun at Bhgavad Gita.
Emphasis on “supposedly” because you are not expected to believe that statement being a non-muslim, but we muslims believe that to be true because of our faith. So, what is all these verbose crap about when we “move away from faith based approach to a religion and start treating it like oil in saudi arabia…” Who is moving away from faith?
^ "supposedly" and even if it did, God needs to stop being such a sourpuss, have a coke and smile once ina while. Nothing is happening to him or his "supposed" book if osmeone questions the logic or relevancy and does it in a sarcastic manner. God is a big boy...he cna take it. "supposedly" ofcourse.
Faith is not a tangible asset. It is something you feel, you can';t quantify it, trade it, etc. Faith doesn;t need to be proven. Prove to me God is hurt when someone makes a sarcastic comment about the quran.
From the sounds of it, it looks like you are either an atheist or agnostic. Eitherway i dont care. I am not here to prove the existence of faith or God to you. That is not my job. I believe what i believe, and you believe what you believe. All is asked of you is to repsect what other people believe.
Whine and gripe about God with your buddy GP over a glass of cognac at Houston’s, just not here.
No, I am a deeply spiritual person. I just don't think something that supreme would get offended by a joke or a sarcastic barb at it's expense. If it does, then it is hardly supreme and much more human. Which is probably the case per your interpretation of God.
