Releasing Anger in a more Positive, Healthy Way

Mirch’s post in cafe gave me this thought…

How do you guys cope with anger? what is a healthy way of letting off some steam?

For some it may very well be blogging or posting here on GS…for others it may be jogging it off (this is the case with me), boxing, dancing etc.

Share your thoughts and ideas on how one can release anger instead of keeping it built up inside.

Running for sure, but in addition to that, music really helps!!

Heartbreak, anger, stress, anxiety, mood swings, depression... Music is the best companion to deal with them all.

listening to music and going for a long drive on a nice warm night with the windows down (or the top if u are in convertible)…is the best :k:

Indeed! Music is not just soothing, it can heal! Where words fail, music speaks! I wonder if they recommend or use music for anger management.

Will it not depend what you are angry about ?
For example you are angry at a loss you suffered , then you have to find ways to remedy the situation.

If you are angry at misgivings of someone then talking to that person or someone else helps.
etc etc.

Journaling for sure!!!
and yeh music too
but I tend to listen to miserably sad music anyway

Blogging if Im really feeling something strong and need to vent right away.

If Im angry, sad or upset then I workout like a maniac.

how about taking a drink of water? Isnt that what the Prophet (SAW) suggested or did?

please correct me if I am wrong.

This is a very interesting topic.

So far, I hvent found a single way that can help me out. May be I'vent tried enough.
Especially during the times when there is a sudden surge of anger that starts from bottom and reach top in a nano-second.

Seriously, I need some advice too.

talk to someone who will just sit there and listen to you vent. either that or a punching bag! removing yourself from the situation and going out for a drive or watch a movie.

sit down. get a massage of the temples head and back of hte neck or do it yourself. drink cold milk and lie down.
