I don;t think there is real situation there. You need to help him getting it back from mamu from hell. so SUPPORT HIM!!!
I agree with P.M. I would however let the dust settle first. Right now he's dealing with the Mamu. So maybe when he's completely done with that you could probably mention it to him. in the end, however, It's his land, and he can do whatever he wants with it....
