What classifies as a relationship? I mean what’s a “history”? Liking someone over the net? Going out with an actual rishta for a while and getting to know them? Or actually being involved physically?
i think its an emotional bond u have with someone. someone u are connected to by some sort of feelings. it doesnt have to be love.. it cud be hate as well.

I think perhaps the most important aspect of a relationship is communication. Whether in person or over the net without it there's really not much of anything.
You can be emotially involved with someone..have feelings for them... and they even for you... but you could still not even be in a relationship .
You could even be communicating with them but never really talking too ..if that makes any sense.
Does that mean, it can safely be said that you are in a relationship with Arabs

i would say someone who youve met personally, had romantic feelings for and moments together, for quite a while.. like over 2 weeks or somthin.

What if the emotional bond is one-sided. Is it still considered a "relationship" if only one of the two has committed?

Urgh. People, ofcourse, a relationship forms when it's "mutual" and it's "real". How can you call something purely on the net a relationship? You could call it having feelings or watever but it does not classify as a relationship. Go ahead, try it on your own. Develop feelings for someone on the net ONLY and then try having a relationship in real life. How can you compare the two :)
Humsa, I'm talking more about a relationship in person. Personally, I think internet relationships are a waste of time. However, some people take such 'involvements' to be serious and lump sum that into the person's "history".
