ppl i wanted to know is a person (male) allowed to wear chuddies (briefs) under his ihraam when going for hajj or umra.
the reason for y i have asked this ? is because i was watching a documentary on preparations for hajj and this scholar of islam said,
something on the lines of: that apart from 2 white sheets u can’t wear anything else that made me think, wat about “chuddies”

are u making fun of my statement or is that a serious response, if the latter is true then provide quranic reference or proof from prophet mohammed (pbuh) khutba's or teachings etc etc etc

Brother Allah has commanded us not to wear sewn clothes and not to cover our heads, this signifies complete humbleness and submission to Allah.
Also wearing the two pieces, a pilgrim remembers the state of people on the Day of Judgment when all people will stand naked and barefooted where they will either be punished or rewarded.
when considering this scholars have stated that what is forbidden to wear during the state of ihram is not stitched materials in themselves but garments that are made to fit the limbs and are usually worn by people in normal state, such as shirts, pants and T-shirts.
What the scholars mean by wearing things that are stitched is that which garments which are made to fit the limbs and is worn in the manner in which such garments are usually worn, such as shirts, pants and T-shirts, etc. The scholars did not mean that which has stitches in it.
