I don’t disagree with what he said, but I think govts job is to protect Pakistanis held in other countries. The US would never say/do something like this about its citizens held in any foreign country.
ADDU: Pakistan’s Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Thursday called Ajmal Kasab a terrorist and stated that he should be hanged, DawnNews reported.
Indian media quoted Malik as saying, “Kasab is a terrorist. He is a non-state actor. He should go to gallows.”
While speaking during the Saarc summit in Maldives, he said that matters related to issuance of visas between Pakistan and India would be finalised soon.
The minister further said that culprits of the Samjhuta Express incident should also be hanged.
While i appreciate your comment i think you are wrong about govt being a protective agency overseas. Govt should provide legal assistance and make sure that no discrimination is being done to their citizen.

@Shamraz - so don't you think animals like ajmal kasab are not a danger to Pakistan and Pakistanis? Malik's statement is helpful to Pakistan in that respect.
Actually my concern is why Malik chose to qualify him as terrorist and non-state actor, instead of just terrorist
he should be commended for his truthfulness and forthrightness that he accepted and demanded punishment for a terrorist who tarnished further the name of pakistan when pakistan is facing pressure from all quarters .but many non state actors are still actively conspiring and operating against india with the help of ISI they should be taken care of .
rest assured indian judiciary is quite free but system is quite slow as inherited from britishers , samjhauta express blast is certainly a black spot on the face of india by gods grace culprits will be punished according to the law of the land , minister did not say about other culprits who organised the bombay attack like abdul rehman lakhavi chacha ,( hafiz seyed clean? )and the ISI controller who was throughout in contact with terrorists during actual operation of 26/11
there exists a book named INDIKA written by greek historian HERODOTUS the father of history, this book is more than 2000 yrs old and deals with the various aspects of india of that time that means including present day pakistan too . i simply took the name indik from there since indika name was not available i had to make it indik
