Registration outfits

what to wear on a registration day? my sis wore white and i know thats the norm but maybe you can mix it up with a different colour. although i dont think red would work.

any suggestions?

Re: Registration outfits

whatever colour you want! if you don't want all white, you could pair it with another color- white and a very pale icy blue look gorgeous. or you could just wear another colour entirely.

Re: Registration outfits

**^You can wear any colour or outfit you want! While many brides do prefer white, I have even seen brides wearing red, pink and green outfits to their registry/civil wedding. Likewise, western dresses are chosen more but saris, chudiaars have also been worn. I just think ghararas, farshis and lehngas would look OTT for the event, rest are fine. It really depends upon personal choice. **

***Neha and Darpan’s Civil Marriage in Uxbridge:

After the civil marriage, they took a horse and carriage ride to their reception venue.

Re: Registration outfits

Im having my civil soon and I really wanted to wear something like a pishwas/anarkali dress style in a white colour and ghota on it and kaam on top of the ghota..but lets see my MIL will be bringing the outfit for me which I dont mind she has beautiful taste!

But my close friend wore a baby pink frock with churidar pyjama and it had only work done on it at the top of the frock and some ribbon at the end of the frock and dupputa and she looked soo stunning...I really like the idea of wearing a light pastel colours on the civil ceremony!

Re: Registration outfits

Is it common to have a civil ceremony? I remember for my friend's it was just going to city hall and signing the papers to pick them up for the nikah later on?

Re: Registration outfits

what happens on the registration?? what’s a registration day? i’m getting married soon.. is there something i should know?? batao naaaa :hehe:

Re: Registration outfits

Yeah I want to know too! I've never heard the term "Registration Day." It seems something like a court marriage maybe? Or when you go to get your marriage license?

Re: Registration outfits

^ a nikah alone is not recognised as a valid marriage in the uk. if a couple wants to be recognised legally as husband and wife then they must have a registration/civil ceremony and sign a separate marriage certificate. these days some mosques/islamic centres are licensed to carry out the legal ceremony aswell as the nikah.

hey funky, i've seen some brides opt for peach anarkali/sari, it seems to be a popular colour. i think pastel colours or gold/ivory look great.

Re: Registration outfits

***I think this would look fab for registration without the kaam on the pants.

Pink would look equally cute:
