Anybody know any reliable (money no problem) and decent online registry where one can go to register .pk domain names ( for example something**.org.pk** or .com.pk)
I found one website on google but i had a bad feeling about it. Please only post tried and tested registry websites or ones that you have heard commendations about.

I tried to register .pk one a couple years ago, i think thry pknic.net.pk. The process seemed too complicated. I contacted the sales/customer service folks via email and told that I was overseas and couldnt provide the proper "forms" as they had requested. Their response was "dear sir, please give us your credit card number and we will take care of it from here". I got a lil suspicious after a few exchanges of email like these and dumped the idea of registering the domain.

Actually i found that one through google too and i think i saw a form that you can submit online. But thanks for the heads up.

Used pakhost... I don't like their service and the way things work but domain gets registered anyway.

Ya one more thing .. there is no need to be suspicious about pknic.net.pk ... they are the ones running Root servers for .pk If you have suspicion, wire them the money instead of giving them credit card number.
Alternatively ask a friend/family member in PK to register it for you & send ur friend/family member the money.

Maybe their customer service skills have improved since i had a run in with them 2-3 years ago. There was absolutley no way i was going to give them my CC number thru insecure means to a sales@pknic or support@pknic address where I know more than a few people have access to read emails.

dot.tk is useless domain names anyway, since they have starting putting advertisements on free accounts.

No, you can cut the advertisements off in options. If you are interested, I can help you how. It’s easy, 1 min work.
You can also get free .net.tc domains which is good. But .tk domain is short and pretty easy to remember.

uncle mamo, if you havent already understood the purpose behind .pk domains, let me explain. Domains ending with .pk signify the website to be a pakistani domain. An entity that would like to have itself recognized over the internet as a pakistani entity would opt for a .pk domain. In such a case money is not a factor as you might have noticed that a decent enough organization or even an individual has no qualms about paying Rs 1000 a year for a simple domain. Thankyou though for your suggestion.
Also thankyou everyone else for your suggestions. I am in the process of making a website for my high school and was considering registering a .pk domain for it.

You can easily get free webhosting.
Go to http://www.ri4k.co.uk ← Sign up with great offers (750 MB space and 10 GB bandwitch). Pretty good hosting. You get full control over your hosting. You can make forums.
Then go to http://www.dot.tk <== to redirect your hosting to .tk domain.
Pretty nice and simple. .pk and .tk extension does not matter. It’s just waste of money. If you are getting free from the other side, then what’s the point of buying it. However, I can not force anyone. Do whatever you want. You may rather want to use 1,000 rupees to feed of the poor people. What a waste of money! Just think about it.
By the way, I have a free domain (http://www.numuke.net) that I do not use. I got it for free offers. But it lasts 1 year and 10 months. If you wish to get it, then I would appreciated to give you since I am not using it.
