registerfly

I was wondering if any of you have domains registered with registerfly? If you do, you probably know that there is a great deal of turmoil going on with that company and they have a lot of angry customers who are not getting customer support they need. The wait time is usually 45 minutes to an hour before someone picks up the phone.

I have a few non-critical domains with them and I’m trying to transfer those to NetSol where I have rest of my domains. But they are not providing customers the Authorization Code needed to make the switch. People are loosing their domains which have expired because they are unable to process renewals. The tech support people are couple of desis who are acting all cool and saying they are experiencing some technical problems and to call them back in 24-48 hours. Bunch of idiots.

Thier website is running like nothing has ever happened and its business as usual. Lesson learned from all this is that if it sounds too good to be true, then it is. I would rather pay $35/year for a domain from a reputable place compared to $6.99/year with a company who can go out of business and leave you stranded.

Re: registerfly

For domains I always recommend godaddy(8.95) and namecheap($8.88).

Re: registerfly

lets sue registerfly... they used to be the best, now they r quite the opposite.
p.s. i wana read the gripes of angry registerfly customers, plz post the link.

Re: registerfly

Mr G, ill paste here my support ticket correspondence with registerfly. Their tech support staff are a buncha buffoons:

I received a formal email from them explaining what had went wrong. They also updated their clumsy website and explained the situation and glitches about renewal and inter-transfer of domains. I plan to have the domain transferred somewhere else very soon.

Re: registerfly

^------ :D

Yeah it's like talking to a brick wall. Those customer service people are so frickin dheet...no matter what you say to them they remain calm and give the same answer again.

Mr. Genius - someone setup a very informative site with news for registerfly customers at www.registerflies.com

Re: registerfly

i feel it mann... for ONE FULL month, i did those tickets AND called them every night (even tried at 3am) --- i had to wait a good hour everyday to get a live person, they promised me atleast SEVEN times that my domain will be renewed the next day by noon. It was SOO frustrating to see my unresolved (sometimes unresolved and closed) tickets by noon. What a scam... Rula diya tha saaloun ne yar...
5abi, let me know where you move your domain..
sky, thanks for sharing that site... i always wanted to know how a registrar could be that bad; seems like something weird going on. Regardless, no sympathy from me whatsoever.

Re: registerfly

M r G., ill prolly go with gopappi.com

Re: registerfly

I second this opinion. There’s another one hostdimedomains.com which does pretty good service.

Re: registerfly

I have over 20+ domains, most of them on NameCheap.com and a few on GoDaddy.com - never had a complaint.

Re: registerfly

ICANN today issued a formal notice of termination of RegisterFly.com’s Registration Accreditation Agreement (RAA).

Between now and 31 March RegisterFly is required to unlock and provide all necessary Authinfo codes to allow domain name transfers to occur. Any and all registrants wishing to transfer away from RegisterFly during this period should be allowed to do so efficiently and expeditiously.
