Regarding Dr. Afia

The news media in Pakistan has covered this issue quite eloquently and the people of Pakistan are rightfully showing their support regarding the injustice in the case of Dr. Afia. I am surprised that American media, that covers any minor issue, has not shown any upheaval regarding this. However, I am not surprised; if America can abuse an innocent person who has been working for peace in the world and keep that person wrongfully in a semi-arrest state, this behavior is certainly expected from them for a scientist who wore complete hijab and was in Pakistan. The issue being, a deaf ear may be expected from the American elite currently in charge of the country (and Bush appears to be a red-neck to begin with); so if that is the case, my thoughts are what are the feelings of United Nations regarding this issue.

Re: Regarding Dr. Afia

While FBI and US denied the whereabouts of Dr. Afia at first, US has now acknowledged that she is in their custody along with her children. Pakistan is trying through its diplomatic channels to have the children relieved and brought back to Pakistan.

She appeared before a judge 2 weeks ago (i think) and her lawyers requested that she be allowed medical treatment immediately. The request was granted.
