Refurbished Laptops

yay or nay?

Btw I’m looking at one of the big box stores. The refurbished ones are approx. $200 cheaper than the new ones. So good idea or should I opt for new ones?

Re: Refurbished Laptops

How long is the warrenty on refurbished one ? As far as laptop is concerned I'd rather prefer to buy a new one even though I may have to pay couple of hundred $$ extra.

The only refurbished thing I ever bought was a router in canada, used it for almost a year & took it to pakistan, that "hadd haram" thing is still working perfectly fine in pakistan with all dust & twinkingly electricity & even survived 45 or 47 C heat of Lahore in summer .... thought I expected it to work only for couple of months (even when I was in Canada).

Re: Refurbished Laptops

all of the refurbished ones offer 90 days warranty.

I'm leaning towards a new one as well, just wanted to know if getting a refurbished one would be worth it or not.

Re: Refurbished Laptops

with the prices dropped to 60% compared to January last year when I bought my VAIO, a new one will be only couple of hundreds more than a referbished. I was checking out an add in Financial Post paper yesterday and was amazed to see a Toshiba Centrino 1GB RAM 100GB HD WiFi for only $600.

Re: Refurbished Laptops

It depends who refurbished it. If its original manufacturer selling refurbs its worth it. They usually have warranties similar to their new products. I know HP does. If you are interested in any HP models check with me before buying.
