Hi everyone,
We’re all aware of the critical situation in the muslim world, and more close to home, we know of the critical situation within our cities where families are without food. Even more critically due to the situation in the middle east, there are a large number of refugee families arriving in various US Cities. Please find out about any aid efforts taking place within your city, and support the vulnerable.
I’ll start with my city: The center that I have heard of is located on the North side of the city, concentrated within a huge community of immigrant population. The area also happens to be home to many of the refugees who have arrived to this part of the country, according to the khateeb.
The speaker at Juma is a community organizer, and his team has opened up a community center where everyone is welcome to come for social services, educational help, and the center does food drives every first Saturday of the month. Those interested can visit them. Food Drop-Off is welcome; non-perishables are preferred. For more details please see contact info below, and feel free to ask them any questions. If you are able to help tutor, please donate your time tutoring the ever-growing number of children that come there for help with homework. The emphasis was put on education, so that these families can elevate themselves rather than relying on hand outs; and we pray that they become educated and serve their respective communities, wherever they may end up making a respectable living.
