Now there’s been a lot of controversy with regards to the level of refeering during the world cup. Big names like Italy and Spain blame the referees for their early exit from the world cup and say that the hosts Korea have been favoured

What do you guys think of the refereeing so far? Honestly, I think the big names just cant stand the fact that they are not up there and that teams like Turkey and Korea are really doing it for themselves. I mean, the referees are on the ball the whole time, they can see exactly what goes on so surely their decisions should not be questioned.

Even Sepp Blater says so, that the ref's have been poor, and he's going to chose the officals himselfs for the upcomming matches remaining.

I think his quote was said to be, you'll see a whole new change in the upcomming games.

I agree with you cat woman...the officiating this time round has been inconsistent to say the least. W.r.t some of the big names, like Spain and Italy, it is definately a case of Sour Grapes.

I hope that there are no more faux pas' in the semi-finals...for me the best referee in the world has to be Pierre Luigi Collina of Italy. I hope he gets to referee the Final.

I agree man, since all the BIG teams are out and teams like Korea and Turkey have made it this far people cant take it, come on give credit where it belongs. I think Korea and Turkey and even Senegal man I thought the match between Senegal and Turkey was the best match this WC. Man it was a great game, I was going crazzzzzzzzzy

My view is that the world cup has been wrecked by bad decision making. Germany got an easy route to the final because Korea were given undeserved victories over Italy and Spain. Both those sides would have had a great chance of knocking Germany out, but it was always going to be difficult for Korea.

I have every admiration for what Korea has achieved, but Italy and Spain got robbed. The World Cup only comes around once every 4 years and for players to see their dreams shattered like that is not right. Why should teams get punished for clever football, i.e, beating the offside trap? It makes a mockery of the whole competition.

yep one of the worst reefering ... blown up calls and missed ones as well ... Italy got punished for Ref's mistakes ..but I picked Germany .. then Brazil and England to finish up .. and looks like its the same old block afterall .. no matter how much the ref's screwed up ..
