Reema the "Aishwarya Rai of Pakistan"?!

I’m soooooooooooooo embarassed – Reema, the AISHRWARYA RAI of Pakistan?! I’m sure Pakistan could have done MUCH better!

THE INDIAN PRESS HAS CROWNED HER THE AISHWARYA RAI OF PAKISTAN – AFTER BOLLYWOOD’S MOST SUCCESSFUL FEMALE STAR

Reema is overwhelmed by her welcome on her first Indian visit

A household name in Pakistan after having acted in nearly 200 films, Reema is visiting the western Indian city of Bombay - home to India’s famously prolific film industry.

At parties thrown in her honour by Indian film legends, Reema says she brings a message of peace from across the border.

“People in both countries want peace,” she told the BBC.

“And I bring this message with me to further better relations between the two countries.”

Love stories

It is a hope echoed by those she has met in Bombay (Mumbai).

“They all want Indian artists to work in Pakistan and Pakistani artists to work in India,” says Reema.

“There should be a joint venture between the two countries.”

Cooperation between artistes is the key to peace, Reema says

Reema’s reputation was built in the city of Lahore - home to Pakistan’s answer to Bollywood, Lollywood.

She says her visit to Bombay was prompted by the recent thaw in relations between her country and India.

But she charmingly turns down cliched roles in the more improbable love stories featuring Indian boys and Pakistani girls.

“How many times will you do the same story?” she asks, as producers and directors entreat her to play a part in their latest ventures.

Reema believes artistes in the two countries can help bring the two countries closer.

Accompanying her in Bombay are the producer, Mohammed Shoaib Alam, the veteran director and actor, Rangeela, and the classical singer, Ustad Rafaqat Ali Khan.

“I think technically Bollywood is better, but despite being much smaller, there is no dearth of talent in Lollywood,” she says.

‘Too busy to call home’

Asked about fellow Pakistani actresses who failed to make it big in Bollywood, Reema suggests they may not have been good enough all-rounders.

While some were good actresses, they couldn’t dance, while others who could sway to the tunes were not fine enough performers.

A role in Bollywood beckons for the Pakistani actress

But she is confident she will make it.

She has certainly been busy enough in Bombay, passing time with countless big names - Rakesh Roshan and his son, Hrithik, as well as producers Ramesh Sippy, Bharat Shah, Jeetendra and Sawan Kumar.

Asked which Bollywood actors she would most like to have worked with, the answer, predictably enough, was vintage screen idols Amitabh Bachchan and Dilip Kumar.

“I am overwhelmed by the love and affection showered on me by the Indians, the media and the film industry,” she tells the BBC.

Laughing, she adds: “In fact, they have kept me so busy that, believe me, I haven’t had the time to speak to my family back home!”

oh yeah, the website had some really ugly pictures of Reema, which I would have included except I don't know how to put up pictures in my posts.

bhei ye Pakistan ki insult hai ya India ki ?? :D

ahaan... :) do they mean by experience or by looks?

Reema is nothing at all like Aishwarya Rai. Reema is 10 times better than any Aishwarya or Madhuri out there in terms of looks. There is no comparison. “Reema, the AISHRWARYA RAI of Pakistan” is an absolute embarassment to Pakistani actresses.

:bukbuk:

sorry to say but u guys are not helping at all. Reema is one of top heronies and u guys are jus insutl her by saying shes nothing like ashwariya well, sorry to say but i dont think ashwariya rai is beautiful at all ppl mioght but i dont, i think reema is really good looking she snot ugly at all, so if she has gone to bombay that great she is the best one right now and most good looking one and a top actress of pakistani industires. so plz i dont wanna h ear that shes an embrasses for our industry

Well, leaving aside the whole Pakistani/Indian thing, Aish has better personality/looks/figure/acting skills than Reema.

ahaaaahahahahahaah looks personality :D AHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

a two cent ho has no looks or personality

I was not insulting her.. :bummer: Aishwariya is just okay, not that fantastic! :halo:

Sorry I guess there is a missing point.

I feel, its not the comparison on looks or personality rather comparison based on popularity only.

I never said Reema's ugly...she's good looking, but not AS beautiful as Aishwarya Rai.

Let uz Chat: thanks for the instructions! :)

yeah, and Reema has a very nice one? Yeah right... Stop living in a fools paradise, we all know where Reema's career started. I heard she celebrated her 18th birthday last year, well then I guess back in 1991 when she was still a heroine, she must have been under 10 years old ;)

I didn't say she is an angel. But she is way better than Aishwaria Rai

larki-i disagree, reema is hundred times better looking than that skinny ash of theirs, but as epicurean said its the matter of popularity not looks then I agree..........
Broken sky- I have heard reema many many times and she speaks very well english.
and what she says about her age, I really don't care, all women lie about their age she is not the first one, and even if she does , why would I care, its none of my business and concern and it doesn't make any difference in my life. I just think she is the one of the best we got, way better than that sleeping while talking Meera of ourz
