The Saqib video is somewhat of a life-saver, and some of the actresses/models show some potential for the big screen (others, not so much).
Pakistan needs better choreographers if they're going to do musicals.
Overall the movie looks gay, but then that's the kind of gayness Pakistanis seek out in Bollywood anyway, so the movie may actually do well with the masses.
the song reminds me of om shanti om ... originality is sadly non existent .. though saqib's directorial skills make it an eye candy but the idea is OLD
^ I just want to know one thing: So yes this is just another bollywood movie (same concept, same storyline) but then with Pakistani actors, and yes the idea is old. But the same people who love to watch the same kind of bollywood movies again and again and get excited for new upcoming films (wich you dont need to watch anyways, because it's the same old baqwaas), these same people have a problem with the fact that this film lacks originality etc.
I dont get it. If you dont mind to watch the same unoriginal Indian crasp, then why a problem when a Pakistani movie with the same concept (as a bolly movie) comes out?
Wasn't expecting myself to say this -- I've always found Reema to be the kitsch-iest of the lot -- but she seems to have at least got the camerawork, photography, music and most importantly the MARKETING right. The Saqib Malik video is ritzy and glamorous without going into the wannabe-bollywood realm. It'll generate a LOT of interest and just may beat out Bol's opening.....just might happen, the audience do turn out in droves whenever something decent comes out.
The other song of the movie in punjabi on youtube is stunningly shot and a beautiful track on it's own.
:k:^…Though the song looks way better then all the songs lollywood has come up with till date but still it is a copy/inspired by Om Shanti Om, Rab ne bana di jori songs. the steps also remind you of such songs especially the love me ghum step. Had they come up with something original which didn’t remind you of the bollywood movies then it would have been appreciated. All the people who liked it liked it only because its better then movies made previously and its not a serious subject like Shoaib Mansoors and people always wanted that if they could make good movies which were serious then why not the ones that are not so serious. Its not a bad video though yet not as great either. And people have to be blind not to see the bollywood touch in the song.
When Bol came out people started crying about how Pakistan needs fun romantic movies to lighten the mood. Now that a romantic comedy is here people are crying that its a copy of Bollywood. Honestly what do you guys want? Had this been an Indian movie with Shahrukh or Vishal or whoever is in bollywood these days, you guys would be like "OMG this is such a great song, makes me feel like dancing, I love the choreography." Instead of lauding Reema's efforts people are criticizing her by saying it looks like a bollywood song.

Thats the problem..it is a copy of Om Shanti Om song...and its been seen before thats why I said that its a copy - if they had done this before that songs was released then obviously we would have said that this is a lot better since its original. the song has a Farah Khan feel to it..but obviously since we're all aware of our actors dancing ability hence the steps that are taken are a lot simpler. As far as I know if the Indians take something from Pakistan then people here say it loudly and when Pakistanis take something form there they say that loudly as well so why do you have a problem with it? People did ask for a romantic/ light comic film but an original one not inspired by bollywood look. You want to applaud her efforts go ahead its your opinon but don't expect people who don't want to to do the same just because you want them to..because I have my opinion as well.
umm how do people expect us to appreciate something that's a complete RIP OFF of Om shanti Om. I mean just look at the dance moves...its like they just copied the moves right out of om shanti om song. lollywood can only be revived when it starts making movies the people of pakistan can relate to and is catered just for them...this lollypop type movies that lack originality won't take us anywhere...infact I hate to break this to you people but even bollywood has realized that their "formula films" aren't good for business anymore...the films that are doing good business in bollywood are the ones that have an interesting script to offer....not the typical lalloo romantic movies. Look at delhi belly, and zindagi na milegi dobara.. top box office films at the moment..and you will know what i am talking about
I don’t see why an afterparty musical number should be a patented concept of any particular industry or film, Bollywood copies tons of western music videos and other concepts without anyone ever complaining. The problem here is that just too many people watch Om Shanti Om’s and shut their brains while watching it, without noticing how pathetic (and “COPIED”) those movies are.
Here’s the other number from the movie, it’s pretty cool
So sad to see that this is what Pakistan has become. This doesn't even look like the Indian copy, atleast in that they were showing someof their culture
This is total nonsense. It seems anything but Pakistani, and then they argue that the Pakistani film industry isnt going anywhere.
For goodness sake someone create a worthy movie, and not this type of useless copied stuff
Om Shanti Om had similar concept it was an after party (award function). Who here said that Bollywood doesn't copy? go read posts properly before ranting. And you shouldn't worry about Bollywood for copying and all because its an well established industry which makes millions. and how did it come to this level because of some really good unique work they showed in the yester-years. If you talk about copying then there is no denail that even Hollywood takes things from Korean and other foreign works. But these industries are really big and have nothing to loose hence they get away with copying...while our industry is in process of getting revived...so when they start of by copying things so noticably then obviously people would critisize. People like you who just think that its just a great effort for Reema to steap ahead and just make a movie which is better then those old gujjar movies is a different things but people like me who are not quite satisfied is because when I saw Khuda Kay liyeh, I thought that if they can make movies of a better quality with serious concepts then why not just make an effort and make lighter movies with a few songs added to them..its not a big deal Khuda Kay liyeh didn't have indian touch songs and since no Indian movies have started having the gener the Pakistanis are good at i.e. POP then why can't we use that ourselves and make songs like that but picturize them in a filmy way...when i saw this trailer it just showed so much of Indian culture and style. We do have similarities but they could have made the movie look more Pakistani with Pakistan touch/feel to it. People went out to watch Khudha kay liyeh shows how much people do support their own movies, and people even went ahead and watched BOL...we support our stars when they go to India; they aren't really as famous or in the news there as much as they become back home...how much more support? But thats also because Atif didn't sing dhin-chak songs...he sang the songs he got known for in Pakistan. Ali Zafar to showed how Pakistani youth/guys are he didn't change...while Reema's film shouts out BOLLYWOOD STYLE loudly that you can't ignore it. Gidh, this other movie coming out has a song picturized in Indian-ish way but still not as much so it got away...plus the song is good. No one has anything against Reema here...when they do good they do good and when they don't then might as well accept it rather than tagging people as they are critical and don't appreciate the "effort". Effort is appreciated who said it isn't its obvious that this film is not gujjar level but should have been original.
The pakistani bollywood fans here are becomming funnier and funnier
I dont even go to the joke section anymore to have a good laugh. The comments in the bollywood section (and the comments in this thread) make me laugh more…
even tough its a copy of a farah khan song, but good to see the fashion industry and showbizz coming together.nice effort from reema’s part.well its better than those mullah jutt’s movies.
