Reducing waxing pain-

When i get under arms waxed, it gives me so much pain that it starts to bleed a little and gets bruised. The problem is not with the way the person doing it is doing or the wax used, its the sensitivity of my skin. I’ve tried getting it from big parlous like Madeehas, Alle nora as well as typical wax walis. Ive also tried doing it myself but the result is always the little bleeding & bruising. The pain is unbearable as well.

Please suggest me a way that this can be made pain free or at least the pain becomes bearable?

Re: Reducing waxing pain-

Epilators -- guaranteed after a few months hair growth will stop forever!

Re: Reducing waxing pain-

Get Xylocain spray ( i think thats what its called), it numbs the skin, and makes it very bearable

Re: Reducing waxing pain-

And why do they say you get used to waxing after a while and it doesn't hurt anymore. I find it extremly painful every single time after years and years of getting it done. :o

Re: Reducing waxing pain-

Epilators dont give the same clean touch. Also, they too are painful.

For now, i dont care if the hair growth will stop or not but i want it to be pain free, i cant go through that pain every single time.

Plus, do you think its more painful when the hair are longer or shorter?

Does it have any side effects? Where in Lahore can i get it?

Re: Reducing waxing pain-

I know! It so does not get better any time.

shorter hair hurts less for sure!

Re: Reducing waxing pain-

Try taking a pain killer 15 minutes before getting your waxing done. I heard it helps. Never tried it on my self because ALHAMDULILAH my skin is not as sensitive. It huts but not unbearable.

Re: Reducing waxing pain-

before you go for an underarm wax take a shower so is softens the skin the hair comes off easier. Secondly using a numbing cream - i believe their is a baby teething gel that numbs the pain, or EMLA cream ( use 1 hour prior to treatment) taking a pain killer 15-30mins before a treatment should help.

with waxing the shouldnt wax over an area SO much maybe twice max. The person who is waxing should do it in small strips for you, use aloe vera post wax :) and dont shower for 24 hours.

Re: Reducing waxing pain-

It is definitely the wax used and the technique in the case of the bruising. For the blood, some people will always get them if the hairs are thick and deeply rooted - just apply some aloe vera afterwards until it heals.

I'm not sure what else you can do. If you were not in Pakistan, I would recommend going somewhere where they have either a creme wax (contains titanium dioxide for a lower operating temperature, so it's not very hot) which is great for adhering to hairs but not so much to the skin, or a hot film wax which hardly pulls the skin and is great for the face, underarms and bikini area.

Re: Reducing waxing pain-

Yeah, Emla cream (or anything else that contains Lidocaine, I've also tried Dr. Numb which is also brilliant) should work :)

Re: Reducing waxing pain-

A good wax and waxing technique shouldn't require any numbing cream.
