Hi, two Catholic friends of mine recently had a spiritual-marriage (love without sex thing: celibate marriage).
The man was asexual anyway but the woman has strong sexual desires but maintains the relationship out of love.
We were chatting on MSN the other day and discussing if it was biologically possible for a woman to reduce or eliminate her sexual desire, I suggested “female casteration” (ovaries removed) to her, but she doesn’t like the idea of permanently altering her body and doesn’t think it will help, so no khassi!
Is there any hormones or drugs (estrogen? sex-hormone-binding-globulin?) she can take? Are they available over the counter?
I’d appreciate an answer from a doctor or something, then I can give them my 2 Cents on the subject and they’ll think I’m really intellectual and meri wah wah ho jaey gi.
First of all, I must say that this is a strange arrangement... but maybe they should talk to nuns in a catholic church on how they handle this situation naturally instead of using medications.
Interesting question.
Collect all the ugly men pictures and have her see those every hour or two.
She will never think about sex again!!:)
Being overweight may reduce libido. So feed her fatty food!
On a serious note:
Please read about medical castration.
Its the testosterone in small amount which makes women (men) libido stronger. So blocking it reduces libido. Actually both in men and women.
These meds are commonly used for cancer patients to kill cells affected by testosterone.
One group is LHRH agonist like goserelin
or anti-testosterone like cyproterne.
She may have hot flashes like menopausal women.
(On the same token, testosterone patches can be used to INCREASE libido.
With possible side effect of losing testosterone permanently if used by normal people)
It has also been shown that women who take contraceptives for a while and even if they stop these pills, it leads to reduced libido. :(

Female castration is cutting off the clitoris/part of the labia. Otherwise known as female circumcision, or otherwise known as MUTILATION. What you are suggesting is a sterilization, where she whouldn't be able to have a child. not necessarily reduce her libido (maybe as a side effect).
Maybe HE should get something to rev up his libido. Why should the woman suffer in a sex-less relationship?

Not true with all due respect.
Castration and sterilization have different meaning but do have 'some' similarity in intent.
Just to give you one idea. Castration may lead to loss of libido and being able to have children while sterilization may not affect libido at all and leads to inability to procreate.
Mutilation/circumcision of females is completely different scenario.
If these people are as devout as you seem to imply, they should seek the cousel of their Priest....who would very likely recommend that the guy see a Urologist...who in turn would likely (after testing) prescribe Viagra. In Catholocism (as in most religions), the view on sexual relations is that it is a gift from God, a wondrous thing to share between husband and wife and an extremely important part of marriage.
I don't know for sure but I am sure taking some hormones (maybe increasing estrogen or some other levels) will decrease libido. I would talk to a OBGYN
I think that the man should work on himself, why should the woman suffer.... after all Allah makes sex legal only after the wedding and she has a right......... poor woman.

JEEZ this is ridicules.!!! why would you want to suppress a desire which comes so naturally to you. UFFF i wanna slap this woman, she probably has MAJOR issues. All i can say is "dude you need to get laid"
