Reducing file size

I have a NIKON3200 camera.
Pretty neat lil piece of equipment :k:

It has a problem though. It shoots short movie clips in Quick Time format.

The problem? The file size is around 20MB for a short 15 - 20 second clip.
The best I can do is to save it to my hard drive. But I cant do anything else. Like email it to family back home.

Is there anyway I could convert it to some other format , reduce the file size?

Re: Reducing file size

You can either convert it to mpeg or Real Media, which I think has a pretty good compression, plus if you have a website you can stream the video thru that as well. And there is always zipping the file for email purposes, or burn on CD/DVD and snail-mail them. :)

Re: Reducing file size

One more

River Past Video Cleaner

http://www.softhypermarket.com/River-Past-Video-Cleaner-download_2620.html

It can easily convert .mov files to wmv files reducing their size by about 85%

Re: Reducing file size

shehri babu :hoonh: it reduced 20MB .mov to 17.6MB .avi

Some help

Re: Reducing file size

mov is already compressed you do not want to recompress or you will lose quality

Re: Reducing file size

quality is not an issue - as long as it means just losing color ....
I can live with that

are there other options ?

Re: Reducing file size

whcih one you used?
