RedBull and other energy drinks

Hey people,
how many of you here have tried redbull or any other energy drinks for the purpose of being more energized? did they work? how were your experiences like? Do you they are bad for ones health?

As for me, everyday i think about buying redbull, but when i look at its rapping , it looked as if i’m going to be drinking something haraam. I dont know why i get this feeling.. umm.. while I am talkin about being haraam.. do they have anything haraam in them?

Re: RedBull and other energy drinks

i used to jug down the red bull and relentless in my last year of uni, i needed ALOT of caffeine in me and it deffo helped to make me more alert, id feel hyper quite alot in the beginning too but slowly my body built a tolerance against it and it stopped having any effect on me, so i started takin pro-plus tablets lol :D i was a hard core druggy then yeh ryt but im sure if i had a can ryt now id be energized again (hyper in my case)

Re: RedBull and other energy drinks

I used to take Red Bull before a workout every single day for a year straight. Then, I realized I was so dependant on it I would get headaches if I didnt take it.

Energy pills, caffeine, energy drinks, etc are only good for an hour or two at the most. After that, your sugar comes crashing down and you end up feeling sleepy and lethargic.

I would rather have 1/2 cup of coffee then a can of Red Bull.

Re: RedBull and other energy drinks

It is VERY bad for your health and not worth getting hooked on. Drink more water and eat healthier. For a quick fix, the occasional tea or coffee is okay. Sodas and "energy" drinks are bad news.

Re: RedBull and other energy drinks

I have not given it a try yet.. do you think drinking it once in a while wont get me hooked to it?? and hows the taste like?? can you people give it a comparison with something so i could know how it taste before i actually try it?

Re: RedBull and other energy drinks

^ i dont think one drink will ever hurt you...i dont know if it makes u hooked though
i've tried the red bull , both regular and sugar free and honestlyu i dont feel a thing. then again i drink alot of soda so maybe my tolerance level for caffiene is pretty high and i dont feel it much.

just try it, its just a drink, if u dont like it, dont drink it again!

Re: RedBull and other energy drinks

i tried Red Bull many times but not daily but i never feel any diffrence.

Re: RedBull and other energy drinks

redbull-and other energy drinks- is not good for you as it makes your heart work faster. you shouldn't get used to it, but if you use it occasionaly than it doesn't do any harm to you. btw it's smells uuuh,
sanam

Re: RedBull and other energy drinks

One can for me does the trick ( makes me extremely hyper and wide awake). Unfortunately people start thinking i'm drunk after a can of red bull. I have a very low tolerance for caffeine. I have tea once or maybe twice a year lol

Re: RedBull and other energy drinks

i drank "ZipFizz" in college just to stay awake but it also worked at a weight loss or maintaining drink for me if i need to lose 1 or 2 pesky pounds..... anybody else try it?

Re: RedBull and other energy drinks

Can't take more than 4 sips of Redbull, hate that strawberry like taste !!!

Re: RedBull and other energy drinks

I was hooked to RB without reading ingredients , then I found out it is loaded with caffeine , I quit. It tastes so freaking good though.

Re: RedBull and other energy drinks

How does it help with weight loss? Like drink that instead of eating? Or its just one of those things that helps you lose weight?

Re: RedBull and other energy drinks

Zipfizz® Weight Loss Formula was developed as the “healthy alternative” to weight management. It is strongly based on Phaseolamin, Nopal Cactus, and Hoodia

Phaseolamin helps block the breakdown of carbohydrates and starches into fat, before the carbs can make your system produce more insulin, which tells your body to store it as fat. Nopal Cactus is a vegetarian fat blocker which binds fat allowing it to pass naturally through the body. Finally, Hoodia acts as an appetite suppressant. It fools the brain by making you think you’re full, even if you’ve eaten just a light snack

This formulation gives Zipfizz® all three benefits, with stimulation derived from caffeine (anhydrous and green tea sources

this explains how it works. I’ve tried green tea by itself and it’s never worked as something that maintains weight or in terms of reduction but when i consistently drank zipfizz along with eating healthy and exercising it did seem to increase my metabolism so i would lose weight faster and stay focused when i was studying. it might or might not work on you in a similar way in terms of weight loss for you but it definitely worked for me, it’s actually really an energy drink with all this in it:

  • 9 vitamins: Vitamins C, E, all the B’s, and folate
  • 8 minerals: Potassium, magnesium, calcium, zinc, selenium, manganese, chromium, sodium
  • Electrolytes: Magnesium, potassium
  • Amino Acids: Arginine, taurine
  • Antioxidants: Green tea extract, vitamins C, E and Alpha Lipoic Acid
  • The 4 G’s: Grape seed extract, Ginger, Green tea and Ginseng.

Re: RedBull and other energy drinks

Whoa! That's a lot.

A friend of mine drinks a lot of energy drinks around exam time. In first year he drank so much he was actually twitching :)

Yeah, once in a while is ok, just don't overdo it. You feel jacked up with energy drinks (provided you already don't drink a lot of coffee etc) but will crash pretty quickly once it wears off.

If you get tired midday, try to take a 15-30 minute nap; but no longer because then you start to drift off into deep sleep. 15 minutes might seem like nothing but it really does energize you. Lyndon Baines Johnson (a US president) used to take 30 minutes naps at lunch. So take a nap whenever possible and screw the energy drinks and coffee (no offense to any hardcore coffee lovers).
