Red and Green....
Red and Grey...
or
Red and White

Re: red

red is the best colour for a pakistani bride ok

Re: red

I think red suits the best for dulhan on her wedding.. but you should do what you think will be best. I did red for my nikah and turquoise/copper for my ruksati..

Re: red

ummmm

Re: red

I dont think there is much of a rule anymore. Wear a color that loosk good on YOU.

Re: red

I didn't wear red and have no regrets at all! I just knew the whole traditional red bridal look wasn't me so I didn't do it.

Re: red

^ same here!
wear a colour that suits you and makes you look good! some people look horrible in red and still wear it :/

Re: red

^ agree! some people don't suit red! you should wear what suits you.

e.g one of my bengali friends has a dark but beautiful complexion. she wore light, pastel shades on her wedding days and looked stunning! she did try red/ maroons etc in the shops - but felt like it didn't suit her complexion at all!

Re: red

but red does luk nice on a apakistani bride ..... y not try red n a shade of a different color

Re: red

Red is the best for first day

Re: red

Agreed with everyone on here. For me..personally I love red and it also suits me and I also wanted to make sure I incorporated it into my outfit but not drowning in it.. So I'm doing red and green mixed. Mint green with a red/ plum mix would also be gorgoues and have that traditional touch you might be looking for.

Re: red

I love red and yes it suits me :meeno:

Re: red

I've been stuck on this as well. Wearing a shade of red on your wedding day is so predictable. I just don't feel excited when I see a bride in a red/burgundy/maroon lengha. I have tried to convince myself, but I just don't think I can do it. I will probably end up going with a pale green for the barat, and a peachy pink for the valima. I think you should do what you feel is best, and what makes you happy. There really arent any rules anymore!

Re: red

I personally couldn't see myself in anything other than red or a shade of it. A bunto red/maroon is what I'm referring to.

Of course the valima would be the total opposite and contemporary as opposed to the traditional on the baraat. I'm thinking silverish/light-greyish mixed w/ jade/pale green.

i wore a off white and gold combo, but i really regret not wearing red :(

Re: red

what's bunto red/maroon?

It's basically her trademark red, it's not bright and leans towards a regal, timeless maroonish-red— totally gorgeous!
