The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) said late Tuesday it was halting most aid programs in Pakistan due to fears over deteriorating security – a concern underscored early Wednesday when 19 soldiers and militants were killed in a clash at a military checkpoint.
The independent global aid agency, which rarely suspends its operations even in war zones, has worked in the country since the end of British colonial rule in 1947 - but was shaken by the discovery in April of the beheaded body of British doctor Khalil Rasjed Dale, one of its health workers.
I wonder why the ‘Aid Worker’ are being targeted now :hmmm:
Re: Red Cross halts most Pakistan aid after beheading
God knows who target doctors and why but this news, I think will deteriorate Pakistan's reputation.
They target doctors because docs are giving medications to poor people for free, the medications that not only solves their chronic illnesses but also is making them impotent to weaken to strong muslim ummah. Islam enemy are so scared that they have to resort to these tactics.

What kind of these illness are? British docs are the only who have the medications? Doesn't make sense.
Its not about "British" docs, since the doctor was supported/financed by Red Cross or probably he was a member/employee of Red Cross so they treat/provide medications to any sick people around for free/cheap.
The reason 'aid workers' are being targeted is that these "Islamist militants" are not really "Islamist" but purely terrorist who want to completely rule the area they terrorize, the population completely subdued etc.
Re: Red Cross halts most Pakistan aid after beheading
‘aid workers’ are being targeted and the ‘Govt’ and/or the local law authority is unaware from that Its looks like similar to the target killing in Karachi.
Re: Red Cross halts most Pakistan aid after beheading
these kind of incidents are really sad, and at the end of the day, it's always the common man who will suffer the most.
I think they were planning on reopening Peshawar office, provided working conditions for their staff members are adequate, dont know if they are going to still go ahead with this.
Re: Red Cross halts most Pakistan aid after beheading
I think news covers the story what actually had happened the very same time not till the end. Maybe there could be another reason and due to that the 'aid workers' continue what for they r here.
