Re: Red/Creme Wedding Outfit Combo
thanks everyone. So is the ghagra(skirt style) in or the pants style (I think its called the gharra) in for weddings. Does anyone recommend a particular designer for the wedding outfit?
Re: Red/Creme Wedding Outfit Combo
^ I see both.
I personally think that ghararas give a more elegant look.
Re: Red/Creme Wedding Outfit Combo
Go for a farshi gharara or a farshi lehenga for maximum effect. Farshi basically means with a train, and the longer you keep it the better.
Also, dont look for bridals with the colors you like, look for the cuts and embroidery you like and then have them made in the colors you like.
Heres a piece Ive made myself but its a formal, and not a bridal, but it comes in your color combinations as well, Sahar02 just pasted it as well:

Also see what you would like out of the outfit in the long run. If you want something super glamorous and not looking forward to wearing it again, you can experiment with a host of trendy styles, but if you want something you can wear again, I’d go for the gharara with the long kameez style you wanted earlier, as its a classic and wont ever go out of style. To save money you can get the gharara made with atlus (a very interesting variation of jamawar) and have it made in 32 kalis or more to add to the oomph factor. Eliminating embroidery from the sharara will make the price go down, but the added panels will give back the look. Keep the shirt extremely heavy and the dupattas edges heavy too, but the inside of a dupatta can be left on its own as this side is not looked at much. The matha patti (the part of the dupatta that goes on top of the head) is the most important, so focus on that, and if you really want to make something very interesting, add a heavy kamdani spray to it.
Hope this helps!

farshi's are gharara's where the gote is not at the knee but mid-calf; a regular gharara has the gote at the knee.
farshi's don't have trains per se- they just use a lot of fabric overall to make the gharara so there's a lot pooling on the ground all around, whereas a train is where most of the fabric on the ground is at the back of the dress.
