Red atmosphere of Sydney

You’ve seen the red beaches of Australia but did anyone hear about the red air of Australia?

Red dust from the Australian outback had blown over to the east with thousands of metric tons dumped into metropolitan atmospheres.

I remember waking up on the day and looking outside and nearly pooping myself, “oh crap its judgement day!” and ran to check on my parents who were watching the news. It was an extremely eerie day and travel to uni was not very fun. Had to have a scarf wrapped around my face the whole day.

It was extremely difficult to breathe that day and the eyes didn’t feel all that great either. I’d put up some photos but I will just link you guys to some so you can see them in good quality.

Here is a BBC article about the event:
Australia dust storm sweeps across eastern coast | Mail Online

And I’m surprised to see that there’s a wikipedia article too:

Just a little something I thought you guys would find interesting.

Re: Red atmosphere of Sydney

strange, as outback is a bit far from Sydney.

Re: Red atmosphere of Sydney

Wow! :o

Re: Red atmosphere of Sydney

Yup. Thats why it was really interesting.

Re: Red atmosphere of Sydney

Wow, yea that must have been a really eerie day indeed. It looks like it was kind of dark and red that day because of the red sand in the air? Must have felt so weird.

Re: Red atmosphere of Sydney

WOW!!! First the red beaches and now this!!!

Lots of weird stuff going on these days with the weather....

In Sri Lanka, they had some weird stuff going on as well with rain...like fish, and shrimps and some sort of jelly falling down with the rain :/
