Re: Recycle (a question for middle-east guppies)

Hareem… the UAE is slowly cottoning on to being environmentally aware of the benefits of recycling - in Jumeirah, Dubai, the government have implemented an environmental iniative that requires people to recycle paper, bottles, aluminium, newspapers and so on. There a series of “Recycling areas” clearly signposted and labelled and the Dubai government is hoping that this has a ripple effect on the other Emirates. The fact that there is an area with facilities in order to promote a healthier and cleaner environment is defintely a long awaited start- inshallah publicity and education should help serve to serve this global purpose and inshallah the knock on effect is most yearned!:k:

You mean besides sand? No such concept.

Re: Recycle (a question for middle-east guppies)

You'd be shocked to know that UAE is the 2nd biggest country after USA with the highest levels of domestic waste.

Poppie
Do you think that Government is doing enough publicity for recycling?

Aisha
How do you recycle them? I mean do you go to a site or some org collects from your house?

Re: Recycle (a question for middle-east guppies)

We have recycle bins outside the community centre. I go there and deposit.

Re: Recycle (a question for middle-east guppies)

Hareem…the answer to that in my opinion is definitely :nono:…when compared to western countries such as the UK- UAE needs to set up an infrastructure that has reserach and development into the whole Global issues- it also needs to invest and strategically plan for this to happen…UAE has to be part of the global initiative and awareness of todays global environment…the message I feel is not consistent within the Emirates and there are huge gaps of global awareness that have to be addressed…hope this helps hun..
