Hi all,
I’m really sad and concerned about my son who is 18 months old. He’s been getting ear infections frequently since he was 3 months. I hate to give him antibiotics every time but they don’t even work properly because he gets one infection after another. I wanted to find out if any of you had similar issue with your child and did you opt for the surgery/tubes put in ears…I’m just tired of seeing him in pain all the time, he’s otherwise healthy and a very happy baby.Any useful info will be very appreciated!
All I know about this is that my niece has had ear infections since she was about one as well. Her ped said this is very common and kids get them frequently between the ages of one and five. She is almost five now and doesn't get them as much, Alhumdulillah.
Like Reha said, its very common among some kids in that age. My sister being one of those, use to have them regularly when she was younger and until she was about 14, she had an ear infection religiously twice an year. It gets better with time though
one of my twins had reoccuring ear infections..I think it was like 4 bouts by the time he was 9 months old,....we had tubes put in his ear, and voila, problem solved! it's a very common procedure, we didn't have any side effects or problems....
^^ that is good to hear your baby didnt suffer side affects....we are planning to go for surgery option too because my son has had 7 infections in last 12 months so far. That's a big number!:(
