My one year old is suffering ng from recurring chest/nose congestion, flu and cough. I am tired of giving her syrups, nebulizer each time. The peadetrician says its normal. But I am so worried about my baby. She is always a picky eater. Even her 70% diet is formula milk and cow milk. May be her less diet is causing her so low immune sysyem .
Re: Recurring chest /nose congestion, flu and cough
Cough, flu, and cold are normal for baby under one year old... They come for reason... they make immune system stronger.... Each cold and flu attack lasts 15 days...
Use humidifier
Vicks in bottom of feet, neck and chest.
Give him water.
you can give him baby acetaminophen.

@mahool
She is one year and two months old
Her nose is congested now. She sounds like snoring during sleep. I fear this may not be another flu attack.
She is also weak and underweight due to less solid intake.
I apply Vicks around her nose. So that she can breathe easily during sleep.
Re: Recurring chest /nose congestion, flu and cough
Try steam cleaning all the beddings, sometimes there are allergens and dust mites in bedding, If you live in dry environment try using humidifiers. Do you give her full cream milk. Will she eat fruit sauce because she needs vitamins for immunity.
Re: Recurring chest /nose congestion, flu and cough
The trick is to keep her hydrated and give her vitamin and nutrient rich diet and keep checking for bronchitis. If you boil some water with saunf and ginger that will hydrate her and improve her digestion. Keep trying to feed her pureed fruits. New recommendations is to ease on the syrups and painkillers and allow the body to fight the bug. Keep lots of hand sanitizers and keep changing the bedding and clothing. The germs can keep lingering on in fabrics and the lil darling can keep reinfecting herself.
Re: Recurring chest /nose congestion, flu and cough
Best way to build babies immune system is to breast feed them all doctors agree on that, if The Mother is unable then good alternative is to find a wet Nurse!
