In the Name of God the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Are you looking to put your MSA experience and skills to work at the
national level? If so, The MSA National Task Forces are a great place to
start!!!
MSA National is currently seeking volunteers for its various task forces.
Below is the description of each task force and its projects. A link is
also available to give more details about the task force and the positions
needed. If interested follow the links under any of the task forces and
fill out the forms and email them to [email protected].
The deadline for submitting the forms is Friday, Nov. 21st, 2003
- EDUCATION AND TRAINING TASK FORCE (ETTF)
The goal of the MSA National ETTF is to promote and provide comprehensive
education and training for Muslim students in North America. The ETTF
strives to increase awareness of the importance of education and training
to Muslim students and to promote education and training resources and
programs to MSA Chapters.
ETTF Projects include:
- Training programs
- Resource manuals
- Extended learning resources
- Camps
- Curriculums (halaqah/ classes/ jumuah)

- DA’WAH TASK FORCE (DTF)
The da’wah task force is responsible for initiating and supporting da’wah
(outreach) campaigns/initiatives on North American campuses. The da’wah
task force focuses on both Islam awareness and community involvement.
Islam Awareness Projects include:
- Islam Awareness Month/Week (IAM/IAW)
- Da’wah Training programs
- Da’wah Resource Center
Community Involvement Projects include:
- Tutoring/ mentoring
- Public workshops and lectures on social justice issues
(homelessness, poverty) - Visits to soup kitchens and nursing homes
- Environmental initiatives
(plant trees, recycling, cleanups, anti-pollution) - Inter-religious/ inter-cultural interaction

- RELIGIOUS ACCOMMODATIONS TASK FORCE (RATF)
The objective of the RATF is to help make campuses more Muslim-friendly by
documenting existing religious accommodations, offering consultation for
emerging ones, developing resources, and publishing findings.
RATF areas of focus include:
- Prayer space & Islamic Centres
- Curriculums
- Halal food
- Muslim Housing
- Chaplain/Imam services

- POLITICAL ACTION TASK FORCE (PATF)
PATF has been recently reactivated in order to mobilize and empower MSA
chapters on a political level. It will serve as central information source
from which information and direct-action campaigns will be disseminated.
Through a system of networking, PATF will develop tools and resources that
will allow MSA chapters to launch direct-action campaigns on their
campuses.
PATF aspires to make Muslim students in North America a visible and
relevant force in the U.S. political arena.
PATF Projects include:
- Political awareness campaigns for Muslim Students
- Campaign for Civil liberties

- PROGRAMS TASK FORCE (PTF)
The PTF’s purpose is to develop educational programs for the
university-aged audience, such as the continental conference and other
regional/zonal
conferences.
PTF Projects include:
- Designing and implementing programs for conferences
- Serving as zonal conferences representative
- Providing feedback in the design of local or regional conference programs
- Handling the speakers’ list
- Support team (working with MYNA and/or ISNA)

- COMPUTER TASK FORCE (CTF)
The computer task force is responsible for the developing and maintaining
MSA National computer resources.
CTF Projects include development and management of MSA National resources
including:
- Website
- Databases
- Email Lists

- FINANCE TASK FORCE (FTF)
MSA National depends mainly on the support of the collective community of
the US and Canada to fund our initiatives and help us maintain our vision
and objectives. The finance task force is going to be a small and
focused group who is going to help implement a fundraising plan, and
develop and implement new ideas for fundraising. MSA National is also in
the process of building an endowment. Experts in that field are needed to
lead and help in ensuring the future of MSA National and Muslim students.
FTF Projects include:
- Develop and implement a fundraising plan for MSA National
- Develop and distribute a fundraising manual for MSA chapters

- PUBLICATIONS TASK FORCE
The Publications Task Force is responsible for MSA National publications
