Ok, this is not about any nationality, but somehow I am a favorite of Indian recruiting firms. Here are some of my top concerns.
-
I get constant bombardment of calls from “IT and Staffing Specialist” for contract position jobs, when I clearly stated in my resume and also clicked the preference on my Indeed account that I am only interested in Full time positions. Why would I be interested in a 3 month contract position in Raymond, OH when I (Alhamdulillah) have a full time job in Washington.

I get calls starting at 5:30 in the morning. Yes I know that my cell is east coast number, but my resume clearly shows that I am residing in west coast. Have some mercy people.

I get 3-4 calls from the same staffing firm, one call after the other, about the same contract position, from 3-4 different guys. I mean once one of you calls a person, dont you have a database (or an excel sheet on a server) where you enter the name of that person, so the guys sitting on your left and right are not calling the same Mr Tariq again?

I get calls for the jobs that have absolutely nothing to do with my field. Just because I have Fortran as one of my computer language skill and I have used Unix do not make me a Networking Engineer. Did you even bother to read my resume before decided to give me a call?

And could you please not call yourself Adi or Kal when your name is Adithya or Kalyan. And please dont send me emails from Ram K account, when you are Jay Kumar.
I stopped picking any call that is showing a New Jersey number. I feel bad for these guys. They have extremely heavy accent which is hard to understand even by me, and they sound and act desperate. No professionalism whatsoever. If this is their full time job, then I feel sorry for them. More than these guys, I am surprised about the staffing companies who are hiring them as recruiters, and their managers who are running such an unprofessional operation.
Rant over.
