I’ve seen only a handful of Bollywood movies. These were old, old ones with actors like Amitabh, Rekha, Kapoor Bros, Hema Malini. I actually prefer these more ‘classic’ films especially if it has some sort of story, not just dance numbers. Can anyone recommend some must see films, even if new? I don’t like all the Britney Spearseque dance thing that’s happening with the movies these days. Does anything other than the typical formulas exist? (I don’t mind a little rain or hiding behind trees).

Dil Se is fabulous. Swades was good too. These aren't run-of-the-mill.
I really didn't care much for Devdas though - but the cinematography is spectacular in it. Aish is such a horrible actress.
